What's on the Reading Radar? #read #TBR #WishList

This week blew by. Sick husband. Sick dog. Husband is meh and my dog is not eating much, which is worrying. Unpacking and an attempt to prime a room before the weekend rains. There is still a lot to unpack and the room that is going to be my office is what is going to be painted if I can get through the stinky primer. It's an oil primer so I opened both winds and turned on a fan. I'm not quite half done. I was chased away by the fumes. I'm not sad by I am wearing paint today. :)

Today's list is mostly what I've read this week, which has been a lot. I think there is only one on the list that I haven't read but I put on the wish list this week. LOL!

Title: Demons Do It Better
Series: Hidden Species, 1
Author: Louisa Masters
Length: 254 pages

Genre: Romance / Paranormal / Urban Fantasy / Gay

Notes: Loved this book. It was fun, the world was great, the characters distinctive and endearing. Definitely a reread and I would totally buy it on audio, too.

Blurb:I work for Lucifer. Only, it’s not as cool and satanic as it sounds.

The truth is, I’m an admin assistant who applied for a job that sounded kind of interesting and ended up working for the Community of Species Government. I’m the only human in the office, and basically I ride herd on a team of rambunctious shifters and demons.

I also spend a lot of time avoiding Gideon Bailey, the demon I had a one-night stand with right before I took this job. He hates me, and I really want to avoid being murdered. But I’ve been offered a promotion that will mean working with him, so we’re both going to have to get over it.

Plus, people are going missing. Pregnant people. And the word is that someone is dabbling in genetic experimentation. Putting a stop to that is more important than the sexual tension Gideon and I have been ignoring… isn’t it?

Title: Monster Whisper
Series: My Beautiful Monsters, 1
Author: JB Trepanier
Length: 181 pages

Genre: Romance / Paranormal / Greek Myths / Fantasy / RH / FF / MFM? /

Notes: I was looking for something else when I came across this and the blurb made me curious. Demeter has done something unthinkable and Hades needs the FMC's help It is labeled as dark and I would assign that to the violence. The interactions between the all MCs is sweet and/or funny. I really enjoyed the book and am waiting for the next one to release on Saturday. Though I feel I should warn it sorta just stops. It feels like a cliffhanger but technically isn't.

Blurb: My clients at my vet clinic have always called me an animal whisperer. I’ve never questioned it. Until I started hearing monsters too.

A man came in right at closing with a sick dog. The dog told me why he was sick and I was able to treat him. I had no idea his owner would kidnap me. I had no idea his owner had an entire dungeon of monsters he wanted me to treat. I’ve met a minotaur, a mysterious kraken, a phoenix, and this really massive spider.

I can hear them too. If monsters are real and I can talk to them, then what am I?

Title: Talos
Series: Bloodlines of Fate, 1
Author: A. G. Carothers
Length:

Genre: Romance / Fantasy / Supernatural Beings / Vampires / Enemies to Lovers / Fated Mates / Mpreg / Gay /

Notes: This one comes out on September 8th

Blurb: The Age of Man has passed, and a new age is upon the Earth. An age of magic and technology ruled by the supernatural beings that once hid amongst humanity has begun.

Talos - Vampyr King, Supernatural Council Member, and Despiser of Humans. Fate has a surprise up their sleeve for him.

Bayne - Raised by the human resistance, Would-be Assassin, and Despiser of Supernatural Beings. He's ready to sacrifice himself to kill his enemy.

Bayne is thrust into a world he thinks he knows but quickly discovers his whole life has been built on lies. Talos, perfectly happy ruling his corner of the world, is faced with an unexpected and unwelcome change that comes with the mate chosen by Fate. Together they must discover how to live and, in the end, love one another. But will Fate have more in store for them than just learning to love the species they hate?

Bloodlines of Fate is a new urban fantasy series set in a world destroyed by humans and resurrected by supernatural beings. Fate has many plans for the vampires, fae, unicorns, therianthropes, and humans of this new world. While their mates may be fated, love isn't that easy.

This book contains depictions of gladiatorial combat, snarky fem twinks who will cut you, kings in stilettos, and awkward heats with a pinch of daddy kink.

Talos is part one of a two part story arch. It does end in an HFN with a HEA tied into the second part. This is a type of omegaverse with mpreg.

Title: Don't Cheat Me
Series: Nora Jacobs
Author: Jackie May

Length: 298 pages

Genre: Romantic Elements / Urban Fantasy / Paranormal / Slow Burn RH /

Notes: So when the blurb says slow burn, the burn is so slow that you begin to wonder if the romance side of the story is going to anywhere before the series ends. But I honestly didn't mind. I was invested in the mystery of what Nora is. I had my suspicions, got impatient and read the blurb to the next book and had a hissy fit because it labeled her as Fey. I walked around the house yelling it was a cop-out. She was not fey! I was so sure I knew what she was. But something to remember, in this universe, fey covers a wide range of being. And I was not wrong. :) I am ready for her to start romancing some of her inner circle though. Great series so far.

Blurb: One month after Nora's violent induction to the dangerous supernatural side of Detroit, she's finally settling into her new life as the underworld's token human. All she wants to do is mind her own business, enjoy her new friends, and stay safe. But that's easier said than done when she's such an enigma to everyone around her.

Thanks to her unique psychic abilities, she's garnered a reputation for being mysterious and powerful. When the alpha of a local werewolf pack asks her to help him figure out who is stealing from him, she can't say no, even though getting involved in pack business could have deadly repercussions.

While tangled up in a heap of werewolf troubles, Nora can't quite shake her old vampire problem, either. Henry is practically stalking her, Parker is breaking down the walls around her heart, and Nora's blatant fear of the blood-sucking monsters is a delicious temptation for the natural predators.

Nora's succubus friend, Cecile, believes throwing her a "coming out" party into underworld society is the best way to solve all of her problems. Nora disagrees. If the vampires and werewolves don't kill her, Cecile's party planning definitely will.

* This is book 2 in the Nora Jacobs series and should be read after book 1. It is a slow burn reverse harem series.

Title: The Quarry Master
Series: A Grumpy Alien Boss Romantic Comedy
Author: Amanda Milo
Length: 452 pages

Genre: Romance / Slow Burn / Sci-Fi / Aliens

Notes: This is a standalone in her Stolen By An Alien universe. I sorta squeeed when I found it surfing the internet on Thursday and I'm about half way through. No action adventure in this one, purely character driven and I'm love'n every minute.

Blurb:

BASH: I dislike people.

I despise humans.

A cruel mandate from one of my region's rulers has saddled me with a slew of little alien humans: I'm to put them to work.

One problem?

I run a rock quarry, where humans’ thin skin is a detriment to productivity.

Overseeing these humans is like trying to herd yanaks. If I don't burn, beat, or strangle them to death by the day's end, it will be a miracle.

ISLA:

I can tell the boss likes me, because I'm not dead. Bash is abrasive and acerbic, like some sort of alien love child between Michael Caine and Miss Hannigan. And maybe Ebenezer Scrooge. Bash is a little… anti-human race.

But he’s not all bad. Sure, he's a little growly and he sets things on fire when he gets mad, but even villains need a friend. And here? Bash is everybody's villain.
Everybody’s but mine.

Warning: This book is the slowest of slow burns. It's a 127K story with the personal puzzle parts not snapping together until the last stretch of the book. If you want to sink your teeth into a romance that hits the fireworks level fast, skip on this one. But if you want a sweet slow burn, then this one might be the book for you. (Especially if you love super grouchy heroes with big horns and bigger attitudes.)

Title: A Message from the Home Office
Series:
Author: Angel Martinez
Length: 109 pages

Genre: Romance / Sci-Fi / Gay

Notes: This was a fun and sweet story. I wasn't so sure about the assistant when he arrived, but as the story unfolded, I started rooting for them. :) I can't wait to get my hands on the next IMP Universe story.

Blurb: Sissal Naganos, cobra yervath and diplomat banished to the hinterlands, didn't ask for an assistant, and he certainly didn't ask for such an annoying one.

Being an OIL (Onsite Inter-species Liaison) for the Interplanetary Multispecies Pact has never been an easy job. In fact it's a crap job when stuck on a backwater nowhere planet like Earth.

But cobra Yervath Sissal Naganos manages. The demotion was swift and heavy-handed, but he'll climb back out of this hell eventually. Humans don't meet his social needs, so, yes, it's been lonely and he tells himself he likes the solitude. That is, until IMP sends him an irritating new assistant he never asked for. Now his peace is well and truly disturbed and his paranoid diplomatic reflexes have reawakened. The worst part is the kid didn't have to be so cute.

IMP UNIVERSE
A Christmas Cactus for the General by Angel Martinez
A Message from the Home Office by Angel Martinez
The Nut Job by Freddy MacKay

Publisher's Note
A Message from the Home was previously published as part of the anthology, Foolish Encounters: A Rainbow Gold Anthology, as a short story. It has undergone extensive rewrites and edits with over 6,000 words of new content added.

What's on the Reading Radar? #TBR #WishList #read

This week went by pretty fast. I'm unpacking and unpacking and unpacking. Did I not box all this stuff up not too long ago? 😂 (I just figured out the blogger upgrade came with emojis! BEWARE! 😅) I did make a little headway on Cherish on my breaks. As for reading, it has been a lot of re-reading (which is normal) mixed with some new-to-me authors and lots of book browsing. With the Labor Day weekend coming up, we usually hit Half-Price Book Store but there isn't one in NC. 😱 But the area has other used bookstores that I will definitely check out. I'm sorta of mourning the loss of Indy's used book super sales that Half-Price Books had at the fair grounds a couple times a year. Like I need more books since we are short on bookshelves at the moment. LOL!

Title: A Message from the Home Office
Series:
Author: Angel Martinez
Length:

Genre: Romance / Sci-Fi / Gay

Notes: I'm so looking forward to getting my pre-order! August 25th is the release date. This is in the same universe as A Christmas Cactus for the General which I love.

Title: Dragon Born
Series: Kindled by Fate, 2
Author:
Misha Paige

Length: 118 pages

Genre: Romance / Paranormal / Fantasy / Gay

Notes: This is one of my favorite dragon series. I was introduced to this world by this book. I didn't read the first one until later, so this one can be read as a standalone. I was excited to see the series being re-released and it is now on KU too

Blurb: This book was previously published. No changes have been made.

As a young man, Martel stood against a tyrant and it nearly cost him his life. When the prince who saved him ascended the throne, Martel swore himself to the new king’s service. But over the years his gratitude and loyalty have deepened to something far more.

To stop a madman, Pyrrhos sacrificed his chance at happiness. So he devoted himself to leading his people out of his father’s shadow, no matter the resistance he faced. Now he has been given the gift of a grandson to pass his legacy on to and he is determined to secure the throne for his chosen heir.

And even though it is selfish when he knows his time is running out, he cannot stop reaching for the man who should have been his.

As Pyrrhos’ fate draws closer, treachery from within the court will threaten everything he holds dear, forcing him into a painful choice.

When the truth about Pyrrhos is revealed, Martel will have to defy fate itself to save the man he loves.

Title: Don't Rush Me
Series: Nora Jacobs, 1
Author: Jackie May
Length: 286 pages

Genre: Romantic Elements / Slow Burn Romance / Urban Fantasy / Paranormal / RH series, just no there yet /

Notes: This was a book that was recommended and even after I got it, I sat on it a while. But I finished it last night and I'm going to be buying the rest of the series. Strong FMC and though she has issues, she knows what they are. That was handled well, I think. Terrence the Troll was awesome. I actually cheered when he tore someone apart. So, warning there is violence but not as descriptive as it could have been. I'm looking forward to where the story is going.

Blurb:

Most humans have no idea that a dark and deadly underworld, filled with magic and monsters, exists. They wander through life blissfully ignorant of the supernatural world around them. Nora Jacobs is different. Nora knows exactly what kinds of hellish creatures haunt the streets of Detroit.

Thanks to a unique set of psychic abilities, Nora has managed to steer clear of the underworld most of her life. But all that changes the night the most powerful vampire in the city discovers her gifts and decides to use her as a tool to find one of his missing clan members.

As if that’s not bad enough, Nora believes she’s cursed. All her life, people, especially men, have been drawn to her—some to the point of obsession and violence. Underworlders, it seems, are not immune to this curse, and now she’s caught the attention of some of the most dangerous monsters in the city.

Neck deep in an investigation only she can solve, Nora quickly makes as many new allies as she does enemies. Her biggest problem is staying alive long enough to decide which is which.

*This is a slow burn reverse harem novel with adult themes that some may find triggering.

Title: The Bigfoot's Mate
Series:
Author: Delaney Rain
Length: 100 pages

Genre: Romance / Paranormal / Gay

Notes: I so enjoyed The Sea Monster's Mate that I thought I'd give this one a go and see if it is just as sweet and angst free.

Blurb: Anthropologist Ramsey Kaye survives a small plane crash in the forest, but is prevented from getting immediate help by injuries and bad weather. Though he’s out here looking for Bigfoot evidence, he’s still terrified when the real thing finds him taking shelter in the wrecked plane. But now he’s living in a cave with the hairy brute and discovering the big guy might not be so beastly after all. In fact, Ramsey might just be falling in love with Bigfoot.

Ramsey’s spent his life wanting to prove Bigfoot’s existence to the world, but now that he has all the evidence he could ever want, he’s not sure he wants to share. But what if people come looking for him, intent on rescuing him? Does he stay or go? Is love enough of a reason for Ramsey to abandon his modern life to remain here in the forest as Bigfoot’s mate?

Title: The Curse of the Mummy's Heart
Series:
(The Peculiars Book 1)

Author: Julia Talbot
Length: 241 pages

Genre: Romance / Paranormal / Historical Romance / Gay

Notes: This sounds fun.

Blurb: Something is rising in the desert sand, and between two adventurous men.

Famous 1920s Hollywood actor Douglas Fitzhugh and his brother Donnie are headed for Egypt on a classic monster movie quest. Their mysterious benefactor, a man they call Grant, has sent them to find a stranded archaeologist, and all they have to go on is a handwritten journal. That's just the kind of adventure Douglas loves, and he never passes up the chance to get away from his studio-driven life.

Charles Angeloff is also on his way to Egypt with a special object his father has asked him to return to the tomb he ripped it from. Charles is just out of university, and when he meets Douglas, he falls hard for Douglas' charm and his worldly ways.

As they travel, more men of adventure join them: a cowboy, a rich seminary student, and a librarian. When they're all together, it's like magic happens, and the men all realize they're on a mission to stop the horror that stirs beneath the desert sands, even as that creature sets its sights on Charles. Will Douglas and Charles lose each other just when they've found what they both think is the man they want to be with forever?

What's on the Reading Radar? #read #TRB #WishList #read

What am I doing? Working away on Cherish the next book of the Valespian Pact. Petting all the pretty, new covers for Sumeria's Sons. Trying not to melt in the summer heat (The husband is wearing sweats and long sleeves in the house, complaining he is cold. LOL). How is it mid-August already?

Title: How to Hack the Hacker
Series:
(Unholy Trifecta Book 3)
Author: AJ Sherwood
Length: 194 pages

Genre: Romance / Contemporary / Criminals & Bounty Hunters / Gay /

Notes: This one of my favorite series. I love this bunch of criminal misfits. I was so glad that Kyou's hand was forced so that he and Bran could meet.

Blurb: Staying away is Kyou’s number one rule when it comes to protecting the sexy real-estate developer.

Kyou has a routine. A system. He guards Brannigan Genovese, hacks for his family of choice, and drinks far too much caffeine for any living being. Only a few things can completely disrupt his routine to cause him trouble:

•Brannigan buying up real estate from the Irish Mob
•Kyou’s band of brothers figuring out who Brannigan actually is
•Ivan
•Feelings for one Brannigan Genovese

Oddly enough, it’s the feelings that get Kyou in the most trouble. Because when Brannigan is in danger, Kyou ignores all his brain’s protestations and breaks every rule he has to save the man, including his number one.

And damn the consequences.

Tags:

It's not stalking (totally stalking), sleep is for the weak, coffee IS food, running-from-the-mob meet cute, Brannigan does stupid stuff to make Kyou call him, Kyou is utterly done, pansexual character, band of brothers, anxiety, family of choice, emotional growth, so simple a ten-year-old can do it, no really it’s not that hard, Kyou peopled last week, meddling, so much meddling, Irish Mobsters were hurt in the making of this book, Ivan’s actually serious for once, yes the world almost ended.

Title: Convincing Conrad
Series: The Bodyguard Pack, 1
Author: Casey Drake
Length: 248 pages

Genre: Romance / Paranormal / Shifters / Gay /

Notes: This is a shared world with Macy Blake's Chosen One world. I'm about half way through and there has been a lot of action and a cute set of twins.

Blurb: Conrad Stokes knows he’s in trouble when he uncovers an embezzlement scheme and watches as his boss’s office is ransacked… by glowing-eyed shadows. Now his boss is dead, and Conrad is understandably freaked out and doesn’t want to go home alone. Enter Ryder, the gorgeous security specialist sent by his sister.

Ryder Weller didn’t know what to expect when he answered Connie’s call to escort her twin brother home from a seedy bar across town. A trashed apartment, the scent of dangerous wolves, and the overwhelming need to protect the human in his care at all costs wasn’t it. He sure wasn’t dreaming of forever… or finding a true mate. But it might all be within his grasp—after he breaks the news that “werewolves are real, and hey, I’m one of them,” that is.

Title: Demons do it Better
Series: A Hidden Sepcies, 1
Author: Louisa Masters
Length: 254 pages

Genre: Romance / Paranormal / Demons / Shifters  / Admin Assistant to the Devil / Kidnappings / Mystery / Gay /

Notes: I have been seeing a lot of chatter over this one and decided to take a look.

Blurb: I work for Lucifer.

Title: Never a Saint
Series:
(Polished P & P Book 2)
Author: Lila Rose
Length: 211 pages

Genre: Romance / Contemporary / Motorcycle Club / Low Angst / Bisexual /

Notes: I really like this series. The relationship is low angst but it is also about a motorcycle club that sometimes does shady stuff which includes taking out/killing enemies to the club. I will definitely be picking this series up on audiobook if the author chooses to put one out.

Blurb: Kylo Lee, prospect to the Diamond MC, makes a career shift to help better his future. He doesn’t know it will change him in more ways than one, and it’s all to do with a certain man who confuses and annoys him, while sending his emotions wild.

Just when everything is falling into place, life takes a turn down a road where Kylo doesn’t want to go. His past comes back to bite him in the ass. Pain surrounds him and all that can make him happy is vengeance, and the man who surprisingly still stands at his side.

Note: This is book two in the Polished P & P mm romance series, but it can be read as a standalone.

Title: Poseidon's Lady
Series: (Poseidon's Warriors MC)
Author: Darlene Tallman
Length: 287 pages

Genre: Romance / Contemporary / Motorcycle Club /

Notes: The cover and then the blurb caught my attention on this one. I've never read this author before, so I'm not sure what to expect.

Blurb: Poseidon Malone is on his annual retreat at his grandfather’s one-room cabin. Since separating from the U.S. Navy as a SEAL, he and his unit have established a legit motorcycle club in coastal Georgia. Life is good but he’s lonely and the easy women that come around when they have a party just aren’t cutting it any more.

He never expects his ‘one’ to pass out at his feet.

Lillianna Rose is on the run from her best friend, as well as her fiancé. Finding out that they’ve been cheating on her isn’t the straw that breaks the camel’s back, however; no, it was their nefarious plot that sent her on the run.

When her car breaks down in the North Georgia mountains, she sets out on foot in one of the worst snowstorms recorded.

When she wakes up, she finds her future.

**Suitable for ages 18+ due to strong language and adult content**

Title: Smash & Grab
Series: Relic, 1
Author: Maz Maddox
Length: 179 page

Genre: Romance / Paranormal / Gay

Notes: This was a great read. Fun and inventive with great characters. If it was in paperback, I would buy a it. If it was on audio, I would buy that too. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Blurb: My standard issued lab badge reads 'Simon' but it really should say 'unexciting nerd with no social life'Don’t get me wrong -- I love what I do with a passion, but it doesn’t leave a lot of time for much else.

Especially romance.

While chipping away at my work, I’m suddenly the person between hired cartel muscle and the fossil that will define my career.
Which isn’t the most insane part of the story.

My savior is a chaotic, bat-wielding punk with a bubble gum pink mohawk and a killer smile.

In a mad dash to escape the thieves, my knight in studded armor sweeps me across the country while hitting every tourist trap along the way.

While smuggling a fossil, might I add.

Oh, and did I mention this pink punk can shift into a dinosaur?

Title: Addie
Series: Pack of Misfits
Author: Raven Kennedy
Length: 272 pages

Genre: Romance / Paranormal / Non-Predator Shifters / MMMF /

Notes: I have the audio of this and really enjoyed the book. It has a little bit of angst because the love interest have a prejudice against prey shifters. So there is that to work through. Lots of puns thrown around and the duck cracked me up.

Blurb: I live with a pack of misfit shifters.
Freaks. Rogues. Oddballs. Prey. Runts. Deformed. We're all welcome in Pack Aberrant.

We aren't going to be winning any popularity contests, but our hodgepodge bunch is more loyal than even the strongest pred packs. I should know. I grew up in one of them. As soon as they realized I was different, I was despised, even by my own family.

So I left, joined Pack Aberrant, and I've steered clear of alpha pred assholes ever since. Until my heatwave hits, and I accidentally jump three coyote shifters in a parking lot. Whoopsie.

Once they realize what my animal is, they're gonna kick me to the curb just like every other pred shifter has. And my old pack? They come back to haunt me.

I'm unwanted by the three hotties, threatened by my old pack, and to top it all off, I have to find a new job because I attacked a bank robber. Accidentally.

Being a misfit really sucks sometimes.

Author's Note: This was originally released as a short story in the Shifting Destiny anthology. It has now been expanded into a full-length novel. Puns still included.

Addie's story is book one in the Pack of Misfits series. Every book will be a standalone for that character, but a continuation of the Pack Aberrant story. Book one is a reverse harem with multiple love interests with the main character. However, this is not a reverse harem series. Some main characters in this series will have monogamous relationships.

*This is intended for ages 18 and older due to sexual content and strong language.

What's on the Reading Radar? #TBR #WishList

I'm mostly on a new working schedule while we wait for the rest our belongings to be delivered by the movers.

Today is the last day that you can grab Sumeria's Sons with the current covers. Cherish, the next Valespian Pact book is coming along fine and I'm working through edits for series that have been out of print since Less Than Three closed. The busy is good for me. :)

Title: Disrupt
Series: Iron Heretics MC, 1
Author(s): Michelle Frost
Length: 148 pages

Genre: Romance / Contemporary / Gay

Notes: I'm testing the waters again with Motorcycle Club Romances. It's hard to find what I want to read (probably because I'm a little specific i.e. picky about what I want out of a story. LOL) This series kept coming up and the blurb is intriguing.

Blurb: Being vulnerable makes you a target. Pax knows this all too well. He doesn’t want to need a hero, but the green-eyed biker that keeps rescuing him anyway has him sliding into dangerous territory—namely, Mace’s bed.

Mace is the Sergeant-at-Arms of the St. Louis Iron Heretics MC—treading through volatile situations is all in a days work. At the end of the day, he knows better than to let his heart rule out over his head, but Pax is an anomaly he can’t shake loose.

When a threat returns, taking aim at Pax and disrupting the balance they’ve reached, Mace has to recalibrate his sights, bringing what he truly wants into focus. Unfortunately for them, danger doesn’t always stay dead.

Disrupt is the first book in the Iron Heretics MC series. It can be read as a stand-alone and features no cliffhanger, no cheating, and a HEA.

Series:
Author(s): M.C.A. Hogarth
Length: 1239 pages

Genre: Space Opera / Science Fiction / Aliens / Romantic Elements

Notes:

Blurb: "The thrills are nonstop, the alien cultures and races are well developed and fascinating, and there’s just the right amount of humor to keep the whole thing fizzing." — Analog Science Fiction and Fact

Merchant Trader Reese Eddings just wants to be left alone to run her (failing) operation in peace... so naturally she spends four books wrapped up in spies, pirates, and a space elf civil war! The "Her Instruments" box set contains all four novels:

Earthrise
Reese Eddings has enough to do keeping her rattletrap merchant vessel, the TMS Earthrise, profitable enough to feed herself and her crew. So when a mysterious benefactor from her past shows up demanding she rescue a man from slavers, her first reaction is to run for the hills. Unfortunately, she did promise to repay the loan. But she didn't think it would involve tangling with pirates over a space elf prince...

Rose Point
Reese is only just getting used to running the Earthrise in the black—and with an Eldritch in her crew—when Hirianthial starts showing powers that even the Eldritch have only in legend. He badly needs training, support and advice, and the only place he can find them is... at home. To see the world of the Eldritch is a once in a lifetime opportunity. And to finally meet the Eldritch Queen! You'd have to twist her arm to get her to admit it, but Reese can't wait to go. But a court out of fantasy and a breathtaking land aren't enough compensation when they come packaged with a rabidly xenophobic species whose world is falling apart....

Laisrathera
The Queen of the Eldritch has offered Reese Eddings a life out of a fairy tale. Now the only thing between Reese and a castle of her very own is a maniacal alien despot, his native quisling and all the Eldritch dead-set on preventing the incursion of aliens at any cost, including the ousting of their current usurper, who happens to be an alien himself. The stakes have never been higher, and this last time will count for all...

A Rose Point Holiday
With the Eldritch civil war over, a castle to renovate, and a wedding to prepare for, the last thing Reese is thinking about is taking a break. But the new year is coming and the Eldritch take their holidays very seriously, so Reese decides it can’t hurt to observe the local proprieties. Who knows? Maybe it’ll make good practice for what Felith is calling the wedding of the century. Of course, that was before Reese realized it was going to involve gifts. And decorating. And a town full of recalcitrant Eldritch tenants who have no reason to trust her...

Series: A Magical Comedy with a Body Count, 15
Author(s): R. J. Blain
Length:

Genre: Romantic Elements / Urban Fantasy / Humor /

Notes: For some reason I thought this released August 1st. I was off by a month. September 1st is the date. Most of these can be read as standalones though there are a couple (Bailey's books) that are connected. They are all quite fun in different ways.

Blurb: After a deal with loan sharks sours, Darlene’s brother is permanently transformed into a chipmunk. Not one to accept impossibility as a good excuse for failure, she’s determined to rescue her brother and secure revenge against those who’d poisoned him with grade-a transformatives.

If she wants to perform a miracle, she’ll need to join forces with a divine, but the man upstairs and his angels refuse to help.

None of the other so-called benevolent divines are willing to help her, either.

Running out of time and options, Darlene prepares to storm the gates of hell for her brother.

She never expected to fall in love with the Devil.

Warning: this novel contains a woman with a chip on her shoulder, humor, and one hell of a hero. Proceed with caution.

Series:
Author(s): Sasha Miller
Length: 160 pages

Genre: Romance / Fantasy / Fairy Tale Retold / Gay /

Notes:

Blurb: Ivo has been a witch hunter for years, a job that's taken him all over the kingdom to stamp out dangerous black magic and its casters. If it often leaves him feeling isolated and lonely, well he knows better than most there are worse things to be.

At first glance, his assignment to deal with the black witch afflicting the small town of Surstuhl seems much like any other job. But a trek into the woods reveals deeper magics, and an insidious plot that's like nothing he's ever seen before.

It also leads him to Hansel, a handsome, mysterious young man searching desperately for his missing sister…

Series: A Light, Funny Paranormal Romance (Nocturne Falls Book 1)
Author(s): Kristen Painter
Length: 372 pages

Genre: Romance / Paranormal / Comedy / Marriage of Convenience /

Notes: I found this on Audible and I liked the sample and the promise of humor.

Blurb: Welcome to Nocturne Falls, the town that celebrates Halloween 365 days a year.

The tourists think it's all a show: the vampires, the werewolves, the witches, the occasional gargoyle flying through the sky. But the supernaturals populating the town know better.

Living in Nocturne Falls means being yourself. Fangs, fur, and all.

After seeing her maybe-mobster boss murder a guy, Delaney James assumes a new identity and pretends to be a mail order bride. She finds her groom-to-be living in a town that celebrates Halloween every day. Weird. But not as weird as what she doesn’t know. Her groom-to-be is a 400-year-old vampire.

Hugh Ellingham has only agreed to the arranged set up to make his overbearing grandmother happy. In thirty days, whatever bridezilla shows up at his door will be escorted right back out. His past means love is no longer an option. Not if the woman’s going to have a future. Except he never counted on Delaney and falling in love for real.

Too bad both of them are keeping some mighty big secrets...

Sumeria's Sons Re-branding #SumeriasSons

For a while now I have been planning and working with Natasha Snow on new covers for my Sumeria's Sons' series. Twin Flames was my first published book and holds a special place in my heart. From this story, I grew into the author I am today. The last book for the series came out a couple of years ago (Yay! I completed the series!),  and I wanted to give the series a face-lift. It's been on my mind since I've been plotting Nathan's story.

The second part of my plan is to pull the series off the market for a short period of time. I'm having the books reformatted and the Sumeria's Sons Interludes included in the back of the appropriate books. (For those of you who already own Sumeria's Sons and Sumeria's Sons Interludes, no new words were added. The books are exactly the same.) Once all the formatting has been completed and the paperback files are ready, Sumeria's Sons will go up on Kindle Unlimited.

I'm making this decision for several reasons, one of them is to enable new-to-the-series readers to discover Tristan and his guys.

But before this all rolls out, I would like to say a few words about the series' existing covers. London Burden created the dynamic covers for the first five books and Kirby Crow did a great job matching the style for book six. I love these covers so hard. They are beautiful and represent each story fantastically. London's artwork is fantastic and I will always be grateful and humbled that I got to have her style on my book covers. <3 <3

This week will be the last week you can buy the books with these covers. The series will start coming down as of Saturday, August 8th. It will also be the last week you can buy Sumeria' Sons through a non-Amazon seller. Entering the series in Kindle Unlimited means the series will be exclusive to Amazon.

And that is the news for the changes planned for Sumeria's Sons. I'm excited that I'll be able to share the new covers soon. I can never hold a surprise for long. LOL!

What's on the Reading Radar? #TBR #WishList

Crazy week. Enough said about that. A lot of great books on my wish list were released this week. I'm slowly making my way through them.

Series: Brimstone, 7
Author: Angel Martinez
Length: 291 pages

Genre: Romance / Sci-Fi / Fantasy /

Notes: It's sad when a series comes to an end, but it's also awesome to know that every gets their HEA. This is one of my favorite series.

Blurb: Beware the demon prince who's sick and tired of running.

Federico Duomo is dead, to begin with. But this is only the first bit of Shax's problems resolved. Powerful crime lords and an obscenely wealthy oligarch are still determined to destroy him and his crew, and Fluffy's original owner may be coming after the Brimstone now, too. It would be splendid to be able to take on one thing at a time.

Adding to the external conflicts, life on board the Brimstone has only grown increasingly stranger. Shax has no idea what to do with the seven partly human children that Heckle rescued from slavers. Heckle himself has grown short-tempered, even with Mac. Someone from Julian's past catches up to them on Barbary. It's enough to put a demon off his cinnamon buns.

Shax isn't panicking, though. In fact he's had it up to his handsome royal nose with the people he loves having to live in constant fear. The fox has turned at bay and the Brimstone's enemies are in for a shock. The demon prince of thieves is coming for them.

Series: Magical Mates, 1
Author: Macy Blake
Length: 264 pages

Genre: Romance / Paranormal / Gay

Notes: Really cute story and a fun glimpse into Nick's pack.

Blurb: Building houses for a pack of orphans might lead one griffin to find his heart’s home.

Victor Eastaughffe knows three things for a fact:

-He does not have a mate.
-He does not like children.
-His duty is to his griffin clan.

When Victor meets Orsen Riggs, a scruffy bear shifter, and little Gus, an orphaned red panda cub, his orderly, structured world becomes messy and chaotic. All the things he once held true suddenly don’t make sense.

Asked to help the Smith pack navigate the difficult world of shifter politics, Victor realizes he might not know himself as well as he thought. Magic is in the air, and it’s making him long for things he never wanted before. But duty comes before all else, even at a price Victor no longer wants to pay.

Title: Wolfsbane
Series: Werewolves of Boston, 1
Author: SJ Himes
Length: 131 pages

Genre: Romance / Urban Fantasy / Gay

Notes:

Blurb: Introducing a new series, Werewolves of Boston, set in the same universe as The Beacon Hill Sorcerer!

Rael Morrow is a human-werewolf hybrid, and he's about to be kicked out of his pack. Unable to transform, Rael is left with few options. He can accept the Alpha's ruling and be banished, pulling his mother with him—or agree to a courtship with Jameson Mercer, heir presumptive of their Boston Southside Pack and the object of Rael's longtime unrequited crush.

If he mates with Jameson, he can remain in the pack, and he and his mother won't have to suffer the indignity of being forced to uproot their whole lives.

Rael reluctantly agrees to the plan. He's been in love with Jameson since he was a kid, and there's no way Jameson cares about him in the same way. Rael is afraid he’s setting himself up for a lifetime of misery.

But then begins a seduction that breaks down every preconceived notion that Rael had about Jameson, and he dares to hope.
Of course, things are never that easy. Jameson is the perfect alpha, and Rael's human heritage hides a secret that threatens his life. The Southside Pack is primed to fracture as power dynamics shift. And Rael is forced to reconcile who he always thought he was with who he could become.

WOLFSBANE is a 37,000 word novella set in the Infinite Arcana, an expanded universe shared with The Beacon Hill Sorcerer, but can be read as a standalone.

Title: His Prince
Series: (House of Maedoc Book 2)
Author: Mary Calmes
Length: 327 pages

Genre: Romance / Paranormal / Vampyrs / Gay /

Notes:

Blurb: Jason Thorpe was content living a quiet life in New Orleans. He and his best friend Ode opened their cozy curios shop in the French Quarter, and he was making some new, albeit interesting, friends….

Then Jason met Varic Maedoc, the prince of the vampyrs, and his life changed forever.

Named the prince’s consort, Jason quickly became the most important subject in the vampyr realm, the man who holds the wolf of Maedoc’s heart—a position that comes with certain obligations and no small amount of influence. Theirs is a partnership of love and a lifetime commitment, but that bond is about to be tested when Varic must return to court and Jason accompanies him.

The king’s court in Malta is unlike anything Jason could have imagined. Amidst the luxury and decadence of the palace is an air of danger and intrigue he is unprepared for, further complicated by new friends and allies who may not be what they seem. To stand beside and protect Varic, Jason must use every weapon in his arsenal to uncover a plot to usurp the king and reveal the identities of those who would see Jason dead before accepting him as their consort.
His single greatest asset is the love of his prince, but even that may not be enough to save Jason’s life.

Series: (Burning Bounty Hunter Book 1)
Author: Storm Song
Length: 158 pages

Genre: Romance / Urban Fantasy / Paranormal / RH / Bisexual / Poly /

Notes:

Blurb: Up until two years ago I was a cop.

Scratch that, I was the best damn magical detective in all of Mystic City- the youngest too.

But everything changed when I picked up the case of an underground magical drug being filtered through the city by a gang of vampires. I started turning over stones that were better left alone and it ended up costing my little sister her life.

Since then I've walked away from the law and worked as a freelance bounty hunter turned magical vigilante. After years of using my elemental magic above the law to stop mystical muggings and petty crimes I thought I was past the hurt and pain of my sister's death. But when the vampire gang responsible for my sister's death moves back into the city it's clear that I have unfinished ends to tie together.

I work alone, always have. But when the weight get's too heavy I have no choice but to enlist the help of a rogue vampire detective, the witch that runs the biggest crime ring in town, and a werewolf with a drinking problem.

I didn't want to let myself get distracted by their charm, but as they crawl into my bed I realize in life you don't always get what you want.

Even then, one thing is certain- I will get the head of my sister's killer on a silver platter. Even if I have to burn the city to a crisp to get it.

Series:
Author: Berlynn Wohl
Length: 186 pages

Genre: Romance / Sci-Fi / Anthology / Gay /

Notes: So this looked different and fun. I've never read this author or the other anthologies.

Blurb: Can love stop a deranged genius bent on galactic domination?

Can a dire warning keep a curious alien from the temptations of those dangerous Earthlings?

Can an engineer be lured away from his top-of-the-line android by a clunky and obsolete metal robot?
