Pact Day: No More Topics #ValespianPact

I was planning for today's topic to be about the humans invading Aries 7, the GyrFalconi's homeworld, and realized that I had already given that bit of history on an earlier blog post. (If you haven't read it, you can find the post HERE.)

Since that was a no-go, I looked around for something else for Pact Days and I actually have nothing to give you. It's not surprising. The Pact Day blog posts started almost a year ago. It was inevitable that I would run out of material to discuss. Since I'm in the middle of writing books 3 and 4 of the series, there isn't anything else that I can write on that wouldn't give away spoilers. I haven't picked up a drawing pencil for ages, so there aren't any character sketches.

So... I'm at a loss, which means that I probably won't have anymore Pact Days. That makes me sad because I enjoyed writing the blog posts (mostly, LOL) but it also means that I need to find something else to fill this spot and I have nothing. I've gotten used to having three steady blog posts every week.

If you have any suggestions or topics you'd like to hear about. Just drop me a comment and I will definitely write about it.

I will have some announcements regarding the Valespian Pact in the future. I am working on something for InstantFreebie connected to my newsletter sign up. I have a handful of side stories about Zeus growing up with the Vondorians. I'm also going to be working on an anthology of flash fictions set in the Valespian Pact world. :) I don't have a time frame for them yet because I'm pushing to get Constant finished and off to the publisher. When I have something more set, I'll have another post about it.

In the meantime, I wanted to thank you for hanging out with me on Thursdays. I really appreciated it. <3

Thank you for stopping by and reading!!

Assassin's Retirement Chapter Thirty, Part Two NSFW #amwriting #blogstory #ION #Gentleman

Welcome back! This is still Not Safe For Work!

Copyright Lexi Ander

"Please, Alonzo." Zane gripped his own hard cock that pointed at his belly button and gave it a firm stroke.

Rising from his knees, Alonzo grabbed the clay pot at the base of the altar. Zane's hot and hungry gaze followed his every move, as Zane slid to the edge of the altar where he splayed his legs, making himself vulnerable to Alonzo. And didn't that just make him feel ten feet tall, metaphorically speaking. Zane wasn't the type who allowed himself to be vulnerable with others and yet he did not hesitate with Alonzo.

Tezcatlipoca blanketed Zane, making him catch his breath. "Why does it feel so good when he touches me in this form?" Zane asked breathily.

"He was once a sun god which comes with no small amount of creation magic." Tezcatlipoca wrapped around Alonzo's hips bringing him closer to Zane. "In turn, sex is the celebration of that life."

Alonzo released the pot when Tezcatlipoca pulled the vessel from his hand. "I will attend to both of you while you see to your new patrón's needs," Tezcatlipoca purred.

Alonzo leaned between Zane's legs, swooping down to hungrily take his mouth. The kiss was searing in its intensity. Zane tasted like smoke and ripe fruit. He was completely lost in the sensation until something lightly grazed his hole. Alonzo's gut clinched the same time as Zane moaned. Tezcatlipoca was stretching both them in preparation for the second part of the ritual. Tonight, Tezcatlipoca would participate as they gave and took pleasure. This sacrifice was a part of the ceremony that would bind them. Later, a different kind of blood sacrifice would be required.

Gently but firmly, Tezcatlipoca breached Alonzo, opening him with care for which he was grateful. He hadn't had a lover for years. Judging by the pain–pleasure crossing Zane's expression, neither had he. Wanting this union to be good for Zane, Alonzo grasped Zane's hard shaft, running his palm over the length, not hard enough to bring Zane to the brink, but to give him pleasure while they were prepared.

He kissed down Zane's body, loving how Zane whispered encouragement in a voice laden with passion. The ash covering Zane's skin acted more as a sweetened aphrodisiac, coating Alonzo's tongue, causing his pulse to spike with lust, the blood thrumming in his ears. The noise of the tribe's lovemaking made him wonder if they understood what the substance was doing to them.

He trembled, just inches away from his goal, and all he could do was press his face into Zane's soft stomach, too overcome to enjoy the feel of the soft, curly hair against his skin.

"Hey," Zane called softly, running his fingers through Alonzo's hair. Gulping in great gasping breaths, he glanced up meeting Zane's eyes. "What can I do for you?"

He gripped Zane's hip with his free hand, wanting to devour Zane like he had no other but afraid that he would forget himself and hurt Zane.

As if he could read Alonzo's mind, Zane's smile was so full of… love? No, it was much too soon. Maricoxi committed more quickly and deeply than humans. That had to be the look of adoration, nothing deeper.

"There is nothing you can do to hurt me. Don't hold back, I want all of you."

Alonzo trembled harder. The ancient, feral part of himself that had hunted monsters in the time of dinosaurs rose to the challenge he saw in Zane's gaze. His patrón had given him permission to be himself and he would not question that wish. He swooped down and took Zane's rigid length into his mouth, trying to swallow him in one swift stuck, almost gagging for the effort. He was out of practice, but he planned to remedy that.

Gradually, he allowed pieces of himself, his true self, free. The hair on his body lengthened though he kept his current height. No matter what Zane believed, he could not take Alonzo's giant form, and he was okay with that.

One of Zane's hands fisted in his hair while the other explored the thickening body hair. "I never knew thick body hair would turn me on? Gods above, I have so many untapped kinks!" Zane gasped, then writhed when Alonzo took him down again. The spill of pre-come coated Alonzo's tongue and he swallowed it greedily.

"That is just as it should be, a patrón loving, desiring everything about their guardian," Tezcatlipoca replied knowingly.

Alonzo groaned himself when Tezcatlipoca thickened the intrusion in his hole. When he moaned around Zane's shaft, Zane gurgled, "Oh my god! Now Alonzo! I need you in me, now."

He couldn't help the low snarl when he surged, catching Zane's swollen lips, the kiss hard and bruising. Zane's fingers dug more forcefully into his hair, pulling Alonzo close. Oh how he ached, the need to claim his patrón and to be claimed in return clawed at him. When Zane reached down and grasped Alonzo's hard shaft, he made himself release Zane's lips so he could watch Zane's bewitching eyes. Zane brought Alonzo's cock to his slick and ready hole. Not stopping, he pressed slowly in, ready to withdraw if he saw any hint of pain in Zane's expression.

"God, yes," Zane moaned when Alonzo was completely enveloped in the burning heat of Zane's body. Cupping Alonzo's face, Zane's expression filled with a soft emotion that Alonzo was hesitant to identify. "Look how beautiful you are."

Alonzo wanted to scoff. He was scary in this form. Humans either ran from his kind or attempted to hunt them. There was no beauty in him. But Zane's expression said he'd argue if Alonzo denied it.

"You feel better than I imagined." Alonzo trembled at Zane's heated words. "From the moment I saw you, I wanted you. I dreamed of you but never believed that I could have you. Now that you are mine, I will never let you go."

"Is that a promise?" Alonzo was only half teasing.

"Your mine, forever." Zane pulled him into another scorching kiss.

Alonzo ignored the fact his eyes burned and his hands trembled when he took Zane's face between his palms. Instead, he silently vowed to make Zane the happiest man on earth.

A weight settled over Alonzo's back and he sensed Tezcatlipoca was ready to begin the second part of the ritual, merely waiting for them. "It is time," Alonzo whispered to Zane.

He was rewarded with a blinding smile and he murmured yes before Zane attacked his mouth. Tezcatlipoca pressed into Alonzo as he withdrew from Zane. The dual sensation was amazing beyond compare. Tezcatlipoca stroked Alonzo's and Zane's bodies, invading their mouths when they broke from ravaging each other. The substitute sacrifice was their pleasure, the god drinking down every moan, every cry, siphoning their heightened emotions and gorging himself. Alonzo knew this from past ceremonies he'd either witnessed or took part in. But he didn't remember it feeling this good.

Zane demanded more and Alonzo gave all of himself, just as Zane wanted. And when Zane came, he watched, cherishing every second until he was pulled over the edge himself, leaving his mark within Zane's body before gathering Zane into his arms, with no plans of ever letting him go.

What's on the Reading Radar? #WishList $TBR

What am I doing? The computer went down and I had to take it in for repair. In the meantime, I've been working on Constant (The Valespian Pact, 3). My goal is to get it finished by the end of the month and I already feel the 30th breathing down my neck like a fire dragon. LOL! The manuscript is currently at 111k and I'm working on a new chapter. That's been the process: edit, rewrite, delete chapter and write a new one, then add new content/scenes. After this new chapter, I'm considering deleting the next one. I've been scanning it for anything that can stay but it doesn't look promising.

For reading, well there are a couple of books that I'm reading at the same time. I have noticed that I'm stopping around the 70% mark because I don't want the story to end... or I'm afraid that the story will stop at a cliffhanger. The cliffhanger book happened last week and I wasn't expecting it and now I'm a little apprehensive about at least that one series.

Title: Kill the Queen
Series: (A Crown of Shards Novel Book 1)
Author(s): Jennifer Estep
Length: 480 pages
Publisher: Harper Voyager (October 2, 2018)

Genre: Fantasy / Magic / Political Intrigue / Some Romantic Elements /

Notes: I'm reading this one currently (audiobook) and have really enjoyed it. The MC at times has been too cynical but considering what her life was like, it's understandable though I wanted to smack her a time or two.

Blurb: Gladiator meets Game of Thrones: a royal woman becomes a skilled warrior to destroy her murderous cousin, avenge her family, and save her kingdom in this first entry in a dazzling fantasy epic from the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the Elemental Assassin series—an enthralling tale that combines magic, murder, intrigue, adventure, and a hint of romance.

In a realm where one’s magical power determines one’s worth, Lady Everleigh’s lack of obvious ability relegates her to the shadows of the royal court of Bellona, a kingdom steeped in gladiator tradition. Seventeenth in line for the throne, Evie is nothing more than a ceremonial fixture, overlooked and mostly forgotten.

But dark forces are at work inside the palace. When her cousin Vasilia, the crown princess, assassinates her mother the queen and takes the throne by force, Evie is also attacked, along with the rest of the royal family. Luckily for Evie, her secret immunity to magic helps her escape the massacre.

Forced into hiding to survive, she falls in with a gladiator troupe. Though they use their talents to entertain and amuse the masses, the gladiators are actually highly trained warriors skilled in the art of war, especially Lucas Sullivan, a powerful magier with secrets of his own. Uncertain of her future—or if she even has one—Evie begins training with the troupe until she can decide her next move.

But as the bloodthirsty Vasilia exerts her power, pushing Bellona to the brink of war, Evie’s fate becomes clear: she must become a fearsome gladiator herself . . . and kill the queen.

Title: A Vampire's Heart

Author(s): Kayleigh Sky
Length: 399 pages

Genre: Mystery / Paranormal / Romantic Elements / Dystopia / Gay /

Blurb: Vampires live.

And they hunger…

Otto Jones, a cop assigned to the seemingly random murder of a vampire, would rather hide out in the nearest bar than waste his time on a dead vamp. He hates the bloodthirsty demons. But when the king of the vampires commands him to work with one of the lesser princes and find the killer, he has no choice.

Prince Jessamine Senera is ready to sacrifice his happiness in a loveless marriage for his family’s benefit… but not yet. He dreams of adventure, excitement, and true love. He lives on romance novels and detective stories and wishes he could drink synthetic blood like every other vampire. But he can’t. He needs human blood to survive and is hated by vampires and humans alike.

As Otto and Jessa draw closer to an entity that doesn’t want to be discovered, Otto finds the heart he thought long dead opening to the romance-loving Jessa. No good can possibly come from falling in love with a vampire, but when a shadowy assailant attacks Jessa, Otto will descend into the darkest pit of the earth to rescue him.

If you like vampires, mythical and urban settings, intense suspense, and happy ever after, then you’ll love this first book in the dark and mysterious Ellowyn Found trilogy!

Title: Bond
Series: Forbidden Desires, 2
Author(s): Piper Scot, Virginia Kelly
Length: 306 pages

Genre: Romance / Omegaverse / Paranormal / Dragons /

Notes: The first book of this series was awesome. I fell in love with Harry and this is his story. I love it just as much. Great series.

Blurb: Adorably naive and shockingly brilliant Harrison Lessardi only needs two things in life: his pet iguana, Steve, and his undying love of science. That is until he witnesses his best friend lay eggs, and a third must-have strolls into his apartment—the sardonic and mischievous Everard Drake.

Everard Drake, celebrated doctor of the tremendously wealthy Drake family, has one goal in mind when he arrives at the scene of his youngest brother’s latest disaster: incinerate Harrison Lessardi. Unfortunately for Everard, the moment he spots Harry, incineration becomes an impossibility—he must have the gorgeous beta as his own, even if it means holding him captive on his estate.

But something else lurks behind Everard’s interest in Harry—something that tugs at Everard’s soul in impossible ways, and that will send Everard and Harry down a rabbit hole of discovery that will change the world as they know it.

An alpha and a beta can’t share a bond.

Can they?

Bond is a 78,000 word steamy omegaverse mpreg-ish romance that will leave you in stitches. It contains an unexpectedly consensual kidnapping; giant magical lizards; an iguana with a full wardrobe named Steve; never-ending nicknames; and a HEA that may, or may not involve mosquito nets. For maximum enjoyment, Bond is best read following the events of Clutch.

Title: The Serpent's Mate
Series: (Iriduan Test Subjects Book 3)
Author(s): Susan Trombley
Length: 277 pages

Genre: Romance / Aliens / Sci-Fi /

Notes: I have not read this series or heard of it before I saw this cover and snagged it because I needed to know more. It sounds like it can be read as a standalone but now I'm caught. The first book is titled the Scorpion Mate and the second is The Kraken's Mate. I love trying out Sci-Fi alien romances, and these aren't the typical 'aliens' with strange colored skin but look human. They are on KU so I'm going to give the series a go.

Blurb: When Cass is abducted by aliens and sold to an alien pirate queen who collects female slaves to harvest their pheromones, her first experience with extraterrestrials quickly turns from surreal into a nightmare, which only grows more terrifying when an alien with a snake-like lower body and a surprisingly handsome face comes to her rescue. But Cass isn’t sure she’s actually safe with him, because he looks at her with hunger in his eyes.

Nahash has always been a loyal, honorable Iriduan soldier. After distinguishing himself above his peers, the genetically-enhanced warrior volunteered for an experimental program to create a hybrid with powerful psionic abilities, using DNA taken from a giant serpent that decimated one of their outer colonies. Though his body changed into a form beyond the scientists’ expectations, his mind became a weapon that could alter the very course of Iriduan civilization, perhaps even saving it from its inevitable ruin.

After such drastic alterations to his biology, scientists told him he was free from the affliction that caused Iriduan males to imprint on a single female, bonding him to her for life. The last thing he expects is to bond instantly to a human female he rescues during a raid on a pirate colony. Now, he’s stuck with her, because if he isn’t exposed to his mate’s scent on a regular basis, he will die. The fact that his body craves her as much as it needs her fills him with resentment, but when he realizes that the Iriduan Empire will do anything to keep her under their control because of what she means to him, he doesn’t hesitate to protect his mate—even if it means betraying his people.

The rogue test subject and the abducted human make a desperate escape from the Iriduan Empire, but the galaxy proves to be a dangerous place and there are worse things than the Iriduans waiting in the darkness of space. With no one to rely on except for each other, Nahash and Cass might not live long enough to find a home where they can settle down and explore the love that grows between them—love that takes them beyond their physical bond.

Author’s Note: 18+ Contains steamy scenes between a human heroine and a very alien hero.

Title: Infinite Blue
Author(s): Natalina Reis
Length: 218 pages
Publisher: Hot Tree Publishing (September 8, 2018)

Genre: Romance / Paranormal / Gay /

Notes: I'm sorta of excited that this seems to be about avian shifters.

Blurb: When a shifter and a human are bound by fate, neither man knows if their connection will be enough to save not only their growing love, but their lives.

Shahin Halcón has been taught that if and when he meets his soul mate, he’ll know immediately. Always the rebel, he doesn’t believe it until the day he crosses paths with Cai, a full-human.

Plagued by unsuccessful relationships and heartache, Cai Banes’s life is quiet and unexciting. When he meets young and wild Shahin, his life is turned upside down, and he's not sure he likes it.

But neither can deny the powerful pull that draws them together.

Old secrets and ancient myths about cross-species relationships plague their romance and threaten to put their happiness and life at risk. Will their love for each other be strong enough to survive?

Title: Fated Heroes

Author(s): Brittany Cournoyer
Length: 170 pages

Genre: Romance / Paranormal / Magic / Gay / Mystery / Action-Adventure /

Blurb: What do you do when the life that you know ceases to exist? When a typical night with your friends turns into a night of horror instead? A night that proves that monsters are real and your life will be forever changed? That’s exactly what happens to four friends when they go from watching movies to fighting for their lives.

Title: Secrets Revealed
Series: Dragon War Chronicles, 2
Author(s): AG Carothers
Length: 167 pages

Genre: Romantic Elements / Alternate World / Paranormal / Dragons / Shifters / Bisexual / Gay / MF / MM / MFM / Poly Relationship /

Notes: The first book ends with a cliffhanger but since I barely read the blurb, the HUGE cliff hanger took me by surprise. But this one was out so I jumped right over. This one does not give the cliffhanger warning. I'm about 2/3 way through. I say poly relationship instead of romance because it's just that. She has several lovers in her group and they all love each other have sex but it is not an active romance. It's more of an action-adventure with sex and romantic elements. Lots of dragon intrigue and the male dragons are real @ssholes.

Blurb: Last time on Dragon War Chronicles, we left our heroes fighting for their lives in the midst of battle...

Kollin races against time to get samples of the weapon used in Canada to their lab in Oslo. Kenshin races to get Danica back home in time to save her, Aiden and Xander. Danica's allies start to converge in Toulouse in aide and help to prepare for what may come.

Warning: This book contains explicit sexual situations that are MM, MF, and MMMF. There are romantic relationships displayed that are MM and some depictions of loving and consensual BDSM relationships. There are also bad puns, a game of tag with an invisible dragon, and lions, jaguars, and bears. Oh my!

Chapter Thirty

Alonzo watched Zane and his god with increasing awe, the welling of so many emotions threatening to overtake him. Did Zane know what he was giving up with that one single word? Immortality was a heavy burden and those not born to it did not handle the long centuries well. He would do everything in his power to help Zane and the rest of his tribe adjust.

The smoky form of Tezcatlipoca settled over Zane, drawing Zane's limbs to the four corners of the altar. Skyld made a noise of alarm. When Alonzo looked back, Midnight had a strong arm wrapped around Skyld's shoulder, whispering into his ear with an urgency that matched Skyld's growing alarm. Alonzo narrowed his eyes. He would not allow anyone to interrupt the ceremony. If he had to sit on Zane's brother and his giant form, then he would without hesitation.

On the altar, Zane moaned and writhed in obvious ecstasy, the scent of his arousal permeating the air, his feverish gaze caught and held by Tezcatlipoca's. The god's form darkened until it was the blackest of black, tendrils pouring quickly into Zane's open mouth. Zane orgasmed, come shooting into the air and landing on his chest as his back bowed. The skin along Zane's forearms and calves split. Blood and smoke poured forth, filling the trough around the edge of the altar.

Alonzo looked back as he stood, his attention caught by the sounds of a scuffle. Midnight sat on Skyld's lap, blocking his view of Zane and speaking in a low voice as he wiped his tears from Skyld's cheeks. After ensuring Midnight had Skyld in hand, Alonzo swept his gaze over everyone else. Their expressions ranged from amazement to worry, but none moved to interfere with Tezcatlipoca.

Moving to the altar, Alonzo stooped to retrieve a large clay cup from the base of the altar and held it under the lip just in time to catch the warm trickle of blood. The outflow was enough to fill the vessel to the brim and not a drop more. Alonzo rose to his full height, aware that everyone watched him.

"Zane willingly gave his blood to Tezcatlipoca, Lord of the Smoking Mirror, Father of the Night Sky, so that we can become a tribe. Partaking in this ritual will tie us to both Zane and Tezcatlipoca until we draw our last breath."

Alonzo moved through the crowd to where Skyld sat with Midnight in his lap. "When we drink, they will become a part of us. We will be stronger, faster. Never again will we be alone because they will tie us together and we will become a family like no other. Together, there is nothing we cannot do."

He held Skyld's skeptical gaze. Black vapor mist wafted from the warm blood in the cup.

"Is Zane dead?" Skyld's voice was raspy with suppressed emotion.

"No, he will live for a very, very long time," Alonzo reassured. "You will not lose him like you did Mikael."

Skyld's breath shuttered and he blinked rapidly. "And if I drink?"

"Then you will be tied to him for all time. We will be your family." Alonzo waited patiently while Skyld made up his mind, only half surprised when Skyld carefully took the cup from him and sipped. His grimace was replaced by euphoria. When Midnight took the clay vessel, he too drank deeply.

Alonzo passed the cup to each person, hyperaware of Zane's heavy breathing. Soon the first part of the ritual would be over and he could join Zane. He tried to be patient, relieved when Cord was the next to the last person to drink. Alonzo would be the last… but when he took the cup back, there was nothing left.

"Alonzo," Zane moaned.

Zane had raised up onto an elbow, holding out his bleeding arm. "Finish it. Drink."

Dropping the vessel, Alonzo crossed to Zane as if pulled by an invisible tether. The wounds were healing but he only needed a small taste. Holding Zane's watchful gaze, he pressed his lips to the slit, taking a mouthful, swallowing only to feel as if he had been hit by a bat in the chest. He staggered, falling to one knee, suddenly realizing why the cup had been empty when he registered the overwhelming flavor. He had never tasted anything like it even though he had taken part in other rituals.

"Take more," Zane urged, pressing his arm more firmly against Alonzo's lips. "Then I need you inside me."

Alonzo growled against Zane's skin, promising with his eyes that he would take care of Zane in every way imaginable. With each swallow the bond between him and Zane strengthened, becoming like steel. He was reminded of the previous bond he'd had and couldn't help but compare the two. Zane's was clearer, stronger, brilliantly shining in its intensity. Such a bond was a gift, not broken lightly. Alonzo's solitary life for these last decades was proof that the tie between patrón and his people could be broken. But that bond had been rotting, rusting. Once Zane learned the ins and outs of being a patrón, he could release individuals from the bond though it would be at a great sacrifice to Zane as well as the tribe. Such actions were considered the last resort.

Before Tezcatlipoca had intervened this day, Alonzo was simply happy to have Zane as his patrón in name only. Never in his wildest imagination had Alonzo thought Tezcatlipoca would give him such a priceless gift as this. The others would understand in time, but Alonzo knew and he would be vigilant, safely guarding Zane from the world so Zane could attend to his calling. As closely connected to Tezcatlipoca as Alonzo now was, he could sense the storm brewing. Change was coming. Was it the fall of the Fifth Sun? He couldn't tell, but dangerous times were brewing and without the sight of a shaman, the tribe would have to be extra vigilant. Zane would be called up, all the patrón would be, if the danger threatened Tezcatlipoca. Zane would require all the skills and tools at his disposal.

Momentarily pushing his worries to the side, Alonzo concentrated once more on Zane. He swallowed mouthfuls of Zane's dark essence mixed with that of Tezcatlipoca, filling a vacancy in him that he had forgotten was there over the years. He couldn't help the moan that rumbled deep in his chest. Zane watched him with an intensity that promised pleasure beyond his imagining… and Alonzo had lived long enough for his imagination to be great.

Behind Alonzo, the lusty moans filled the air. When Tezcatlipoca stepped in and broke Alonzo's bond with his first patron, there were certain parts of himself that he had packed away. Needs and desires he shoved so deep that it felt as if he had cut off a limb. The many patróns who came afterwards, he never stayed long enough to share this ceremony with the tribe. Tezcatlipoca's interference made it possible for him to live outside the protection of a tribe. Alonzo had wandered the Earth for so long, solitary even though he could sense Tezcatlipoca with him.

Now he would be joining a tribe, binding himself to a patrón who fit him perfectly. Never in his wildest imagination had he once thought he'd meet someone like Zane. A man who called to the dormant part of himself, awakening Alonzo's guardian abilities when he believed he would never find another worthy of what he had to give. When Zane had moved to the mountain ranch, Alonzo had been afraid to believe what he'd felt from afar. Never had he heard of a Maricoxi been drawn to someone outside their people. He hadn't known what to do. When he decided he should leave, he couldn't make himself go. Then, when he'd join Zane for the breakfast in town, that had been the beginning of the end. His guardian abilities revived, telling Alonzo he could never leave Zane, and he had resigned himself to protecting Zane from afar to the end of his days. How he would do that had been a mystery. He hadn't even been detoured by the complication that Zane was human. But he hadn't needed to worry for his god had stepped in and given him what he had stopped wishing for: a tribe. A family. Somewhere to belong. Someone, or one's, to love. He had a feeling that every member of this new tribe needed the same things he did.

A smoky hand carded through Alonzo's hair. "You have taken enough, my Most Trusted. You are well and truly bonded again."

He pulled his mouth from the slit on Zane's forearm. Tezcatlipoca quickly took his smoky Jaguar form, lowered his head and swiped a ghostly tongue over Zane's wound, instantly healing it and making Zane writhe.

What's on the Reading Radar #TBR #WishList

What am I doing? Well, trying to get through Constant so that I can move on to something else. Burning out on the book a bit and need to change gears soon. I've been having trouble finding books that keep my interest, too. (See above statement on burning out. It sort of affects other stuff.) But I keep looking!

Length: 396 pages

Genre: Romance / Box Set / Paranormal / Vampires / Gay /

Blurb: No matter how much you try to leave your past behind, it doesn’t always leave you…

After being hired for my dream job, I move back to the small minded town where I grew up, for the job and to finish my degree.
I’m surrounded by my past, by old classmates, old neighbourhoods and old prejudices against gay people.

But on my first day back, my eyes fall on something new around here. A goth guy sitting at the front of the class and I can’t keep my eyes off him.

Even though I don’t know him, I feel like I need to protect him, no matter what.

I can’t stay in the same place for too long. People start to notice that you don’t age, that you don’t get older, and add to that that the chance of vampire hunters finding you gets bigger the longer you stay…

I know that I’m running out of time in this town. I need to move on. I just need to finish my degree and then I can leave and start over somewhere else.

But when my housemate/blood donor turns on me and forces me to leave, I suddenly find myself asking for help from the new guy in our class.

Leaving doesn’t look as appealing anymore…

This is the full collection of novels about vampire Jules and human Sean in the The Vampire’s Pastseries. This includes His to Protect, His to Guard and His to Rescue.

It takes place in a world of all sorts of creatures, vampires, werewolves, mages and, of course, humans, but there are also hunters, trying to rid the world of the un-humans.

Blurb: The fallout from Derrick’s union with Rhaegar and Blake’s aid in his son’s elopement has been intense, to say the least. After a blistering brawl between Blake and Davos, Davos leaves Blake, because he isn’t ready to forgive him, and most shockingly of all, he says he isn’t sure he even wants to.

Blake is frightened and hurt by his actions, but terribly angry. He follows the king back to Tygeria, if only because Davos had the gall to take their two younger children with him when he left. His ship is slower than the king’s, though, and when he arrives back on Tygeria, he finds the king has left again, on a wild chase after his errant son and his pirate mate. Even worse, he makes a unilateral decision to send their son Larz to a faraway planet for military training, against Blake’s express wishes.

When Davos, Derrick and Larz all go suddenly missing, Blake attempts a rescue mission, but encounters a strange wormhole in space, and is flung through it to crash on an unknown planet called Tveir. Strangest of all the planet is populated by Tygerians and their handsome king. Injured and disoriented, Blake begins to feel as if he’s trapped in some crazy story. Except this isn’t any kind of story at all—this is Blake’s life, and the plot has just taken an unexpected, heartbreaking and totally infuriating twist.
