Notes:

BlurbThe slow burn, gay vampire romance you didn't know you needed...

He is done with life. But life is not finished with him.

When he receives a formal request to oversee an antiquated vampire ritual at Hertsmonceux Castle, Haruka grudgingly leaves his home to meet another purebred. The vampire is not what he expects. Truly, he is unlike any vampire Haruka has ever encountered: cautious, innocent and with the warmth and gravitational pull of the sun.

Lore and Lust is an exploration of cultures, contemporary society and romance. It puts a whimsical spin on traditional vampire lore, while also creating a vivid new world where love is love. No questions asked.

Mature sexual content.

Title: Attempted Vampirism

SeriesAttempted Vampirism, 1

Author: L.G. Estrella

Length: 200 pages

Genre: Fantasy / Paranormal / Vampires / Humor /

Notes: I don't know if this is a romance or not. The title caught my eye and the blurb sounds like a great, funny romp.

BlurbIt’s not easy being a vampire – just ask Jonathan.

As the 32nd Lord of Bloodhaven, Jonathan is a vampire noble. Alas, he’s a noble in name only. Forget gold, diamonds, and bountiful estates. All he has to his name are one cosy – some would say dilapidated – castle and a reputation as a fine scholar specialising in ancient lore. Of course, given the horrible ends both his father and grandfather met in pursuit of fame and fortune, it’s probably for the best that he enjoys the quiet life.

Sadly, his quiet life is about to meet a horrible end of its own.

Think tax collectors are bad? How about… vampire tax collectors?

After a run in with the Blood Alliance Department of Taxation leaves Jonathan with nothing except a dressing gown and a pair of bunny slippers, he has no choice but to leave his quiet life behind. He needs a lot of money, and he needs it now. But at least he can rely on his faithful servants for help, right? Wrong. The only servant he’s got left is his old but faithful butler, Miles.

To get his castle and his stuff back, Jonathan and Miles have to take some risks, but the gods aren’t going to make it easy for them. After all, these are the same gods who took at least three tries to get the world mostly right, and they have some wonderful surprises up their sleeve.

If Jonathan can survive werewolves, bandits, and eldritch monstrosities, he might just stand a chance. Sure, he’s more familiar with a book than a sword, but he’ll make it work. Somehow. Maybe. Probably not.

It’s not easy being a vampire, but Jonathan is going to give it his best shot.

Title: Hunger Pangs: True Love Bites

Series

Author: Joy Demorra

Length

Genre: Gothic Romance / Fantasy / Paranormal / Werewolves / Vampires / Poly / Bisexual /

Notes:

BlurbIn a world of dwindling hope, love has never mattered more...

Captain Nathan J. Northland had no idea what to expect when he returned home to Lorehaven injured from war, but it certainly wasn’t to find himself posted on an island full of vampires. An island whose local vampire dandy lord causes Nathan to feel strange things he’d never felt before.

Particularly about fangs.

When Vlad Blutstein agreed to hire Nathan as Captain of the Eyrie Guard, he hadn’t been sure what to expect either, but it certainly hadn’t been to fall in love with a disabled werewolf. However Vlad has fallen and fallen hard, and that’s the problem.

Torn by their allegiances—to family, to duty, and the age-old enmity between vampires and werewolves—the pair find themselves in a difficult situation: to love where the heart wants or to follow where expectation demands.

The situation is complicated further when a mysterious and beguiling figure known only as Lady Ursula crashes into their lives, bringing with her dark omens of death, doom, and destruction in her wake.

And a desperate plea for help neither of them can ignore.

Thrown together in uncertain times and struggling to find their place amidst the rising human empire, the unlikely trio must decide how to face the coming darkness: united as one or divided and alone. One thing is for certain, none of them will ever be the same.

Title: Fated Vampire

Series: Chosen Hearts

Author: Anne O'Connell

Length: 91 pages

Genre: Romance / Paranormal / Vampires / Gay

Notes: I didn't realize when I grabbed this that it is part of Season Two of the Paranormal Underworld's Chosen Hearts series, which looks like a shared world between some authors. But it looks as if it can be read as a standalone.

BlurbLove bites.

Draco: I never wanted to fall in love, I just wanted to be left alone. Then my best friend drags me to a music festival and I meet Alex. He’s perfect, we click, and before I know it, things are getting serious. Now, no matter how desperately I want to keep seeing him – there are things in Alex’s past and present that I can’t condone.

Alex: Draco is everything I’ve ever wanted. He’s beautiful, kind, intelligent. His empathy sets him apart from most of our kind. So when he finds out I work in “vampire food services”, he refuses to keep seeing me due to ethical differences. It’s a great job with a lot of perks, but I need to decide what I want for my future. The job, or him?

TitleFlesh + Blood

Series: Blood Stone Complete Series

Author: Tracey Cooper-Posey

Length: 1793 pages

Genre: Erotic Romance / Paranormal / Urban Fantasy / Vampires / Poly / Bisexual /

Notes:

BlurbThe entire sexy vampire urban fantasy series in one boxed set!

The acclaimed and beloved Blood Stone series—five novels, a novella and two short stories—all collected together for the first time.

Nathaniel (Nial) Aquila Valerius Aurelius is over 1,500 years old and a master manipulator of people, hearts and emotions. He has grown tired of hiding behind masks and knows the modern world will soon force vampires out of hiding, if they do not step into the light themselves.

There are those who oppose Nial and his liberators’ plans to expose vampires to the world, including the Pro Libertatus, who hide among the powerful of the human world, with enormous resources and manpower to bring Nial and his friends to heel.

Then there is the League for Humanity, who are anything but humane. They consider humans the underdogs, mere servants to their vampire overlords and useful cannon fodder. They hide in shadows while humans do their very dirty work, as they try to bring Nial’s people back into line. They have no intention of becoming the equal of humans.

Just those two opponents are overwhelming, but Nial and his friends face more difficult foes as time goes on: The Unspoken Ones — vampires so old they have regressed to ways of thought and speech that modern humans and younger vampires can barely comprehend, but they wield powers unmatched by anyone on the planet.

Then there is the Blood Stone itself. Is it myth, or real? If it is real, it has the power to change the world as we know it. Who finds it, who wields it and who breaks it, will decide the fate of humans and vampires, both.

Reader Advisory: This paranormal MMF urban fantasy series contains more than two hot, sexy alpha heroes, frequent, explicit and frank sex scenes and sexual language. It includes heart-stopping sexual scenes between the aforementioned sexy heroes, ménage scenes, anal sex and the use of sex toys. Don't proceed beyond this point if hot love scenes offend you. No vampires were harmed in the making of this series.

What's on the Reading Radar? #TBR #WishList #reading

This week's Radar is a bit different. I went book hunting for something different. Well, I'm always looking for something different to read, but I realized there were authors that I occasionally followed but who I hadn't read. For instant, every once in a while I will look Courtney Milan up on twitter to see what she is talking about. Her posts are smart, insightful, and thought provoking. But she writes historical romance which I don't read very often anymore, but the other day I decided I would read one of her books when I stumbled upon one of her titles on Amazon. That started me on two paths because I was also looking for books to recommend instead of Harry Potter--which I didn't usually recommend anyway because I never thought it was that great to begin with. That would mean reading some YA/NA books again, so I was also looking for representation for LGBTIAQ and POC with hopefully some Own Voices.

What I got (other than a slew of Victorian and Regency recommendations in the LGBT category) were these intriguing books. I'm in the middle of reading my way through this list because before I give alternate recommendations, I need to know and be able to speak about the recommendations--with a side note that I might give away spoilers. That being said, this is a long list and will probably take me a while to read through. :D
