What's on the Reading Radar? #TBR #WishList

I'm mostly on a new working schedule while we wait for the rest our belongings to be delivered by the movers.

Today is the last day that you can grab Sumeria's Sons with the current covers. Cherish, the next Valespian Pact book is coming along fine and I'm working through edits for series that have been out of print since Less Than Three closed. The busy is good for me. :)

Title: Disrupt
Series: Iron Heretics MC, 1
Author(s): Michelle Frost
Length: 148 pages

Genre: Romance / Contemporary / Gay

Notes: I'm testing the waters again with Motorcycle Club Romances. It's hard to find what I want to read (probably because I'm a little specific i.e. picky about what I want out of a story. LOL) This series kept coming up and the blurb is intriguing.

Blurb: Being vulnerable makes you a target. Pax knows this all too well. He doesn’t want to need a hero, but the green-eyed biker that keeps rescuing him anyway has him sliding into dangerous territory—namely, Mace’s bed.

Mace is the Sergeant-at-Arms of the St. Louis Iron Heretics MC—treading through volatile situations is all in a days work. At the end of the day, he knows better than to let his heart rule out over his head, but Pax is an anomaly he can’t shake loose.

When a threat returns, taking aim at Pax and disrupting the balance they’ve reached, Mace has to recalibrate his sights, bringing what he truly wants into focus. Unfortunately for them, danger doesn’t always stay dead.

Disrupt is the first book in the Iron Heretics MC series. It can be read as a stand-alone and features no cliffhanger, no cheating, and a HEA.

Series:
Author(s): M.C.A. Hogarth
Length: 1239 pages

Genre: Space Opera / Science Fiction / Aliens / Romantic Elements

Notes:

Blurb: "The thrills are nonstop, the alien cultures and races are well developed and fascinating, and there’s just the right amount of humor to keep the whole thing fizzing." — Analog Science Fiction and Fact

Merchant Trader Reese Eddings just wants to be left alone to run her (failing) operation in peace... so naturally she spends four books wrapped up in spies, pirates, and a space elf civil war! The "Her Instruments" box set contains all four novels:

Earthrise
Reese Eddings has enough to do keeping her rattletrap merchant vessel, the TMS Earthrise, profitable enough to feed herself and her crew. So when a mysterious benefactor from her past shows up demanding she rescue a man from slavers, her first reaction is to run for the hills. Unfortunately, she did promise to repay the loan. But she didn't think it would involve tangling with pirates over a space elf prince...

Rose Point
Reese is only just getting used to running the Earthrise in the black—and with an Eldritch in her crew—when Hirianthial starts showing powers that even the Eldritch have only in legend. He badly needs training, support and advice, and the only place he can find them is... at home. To see the world of the Eldritch is a once in a lifetime opportunity. And to finally meet the Eldritch Queen! You'd have to twist her arm to get her to admit it, but Reese can't wait to go. But a court out of fantasy and a breathtaking land aren't enough compensation when they come packaged with a rabidly xenophobic species whose world is falling apart....

Laisrathera
The Queen of the Eldritch has offered Reese Eddings a life out of a fairy tale. Now the only thing between Reese and a castle of her very own is a maniacal alien despot, his native quisling and all the Eldritch dead-set on preventing the incursion of aliens at any cost, including the ousting of their current usurper, who happens to be an alien himself. The stakes have never been higher, and this last time will count for all...

A Rose Point Holiday
With the Eldritch civil war over, a castle to renovate, and a wedding to prepare for, the last thing Reese is thinking about is taking a break. But the new year is coming and the Eldritch take their holidays very seriously, so Reese decides it can’t hurt to observe the local proprieties. Who knows? Maybe it’ll make good practice for what Felith is calling the wedding of the century. Of course, that was before Reese realized it was going to involve gifts. And decorating. And a town full of recalcitrant Eldritch tenants who have no reason to trust her...

Series: A Magical Comedy with a Body Count, 15
Author(s): R. J. Blain
Length:

Genre: Romantic Elements / Urban Fantasy / Humor /

Notes: For some reason I thought this released August 1st. I was off by a month. September 1st is the date. Most of these can be read as standalones though there are a couple (Bailey's books) that are connected. They are all quite fun in different ways.

Blurb: After a deal with loan sharks sours, Darlene’s brother is permanently transformed into a chipmunk. Not one to accept impossibility as a good excuse for failure, she’s determined to rescue her brother and secure revenge against those who’d poisoned him with grade-a transformatives.

If she wants to perform a miracle, she’ll need to join forces with a divine, but the man upstairs and his angels refuse to help.

None of the other so-called benevolent divines are willing to help her, either.

Running out of time and options, Darlene prepares to storm the gates of hell for her brother.

She never expected to fall in love with the Devil.

Warning: this novel contains a woman with a chip on her shoulder, humor, and one hell of a hero. Proceed with caution.

Series:
Author(s): Sasha Miller
Length: 160 pages

Genre: Romance / Fantasy / Fairy Tale Retold / Gay /

Notes:

Blurb: Ivo has been a witch hunter for years, a job that's taken him all over the kingdom to stamp out dangerous black magic and its casters. If it often leaves him feeling isolated and lonely, well he knows better than most there are worse things to be.

At first glance, his assignment to deal with the black witch afflicting the small town of Surstuhl seems much like any other job. But a trek into the woods reveals deeper magics, and an insidious plot that's like nothing he's ever seen before.

It also leads him to Hansel, a handsome, mysterious young man searching desperately for his missing sister…

Series: A Light, Funny Paranormal Romance (Nocturne Falls Book 1)
Author(s): Kristen Painter
Length: 372 pages

Genre: Romance / Paranormal / Comedy / Marriage of Convenience /

Notes: I found this on Audible and I liked the sample and the promise of humor.

Blurb: Welcome to Nocturne Falls, the town that celebrates Halloween 365 days a year.

The tourists think it's all a show: the vampires, the werewolves, the witches, the occasional gargoyle flying through the sky. But the supernaturals populating the town know better.

Living in Nocturne Falls means being yourself. Fangs, fur, and all.

After seeing her maybe-mobster boss murder a guy, Delaney James assumes a new identity and pretends to be a mail order bride. She finds her groom-to-be living in a town that celebrates Halloween every day. Weird. But not as weird as what she doesn’t know. Her groom-to-be is a 400-year-old vampire.

Hugh Ellingham has only agreed to the arranged set up to make his overbearing grandmother happy. In thirty days, whatever bridezilla shows up at his door will be escorted right back out. His past means love is no longer an option. Not if the woman’s going to have a future. Except he never counted on Delaney and falling in love for real.

Too bad both of them are keeping some mighty big secrets...

Thank you for stopping by and reading!!
