What is on the Reading Radar? #wishlist #TBR #reading

Another week gone. When you need time to slow down it speeds by with an evil cackle and rude gestures. It's been a busy week. Working on constant, getting my backlist back out on the market. Lots to do and no time to spare.

Title: The Devourers
Series:
Author(s): Indra Das
Length: 300 pages
Publisher: Del Rey (July 12, 2016)

Genre: Romantic Elements / Mystery /  Myths & Legends / Paranormal / LGBTIAQ / #TBR

Notes:

Blurb: On a cool evening in Kolkata, India, beneath a full moon, as the whirling rhythms of traveling musicians fill the night, college professor Alok encounters a mysterious stranger with a bizarre confession and an extraordinary story. Tantalized by the man’s unfinished tale, Alok will do anything to hear its completion. So Alok agrees, at the stranger’s behest, to transcribe a collection of battered notebooks, weathered parchments, and once-living skins.

From these documents spills the chronicle of a race of people at once more than human yet kin to beasts, ruled by instincts and desires blood-deep and ages-old. The tale features a rough wanderer in seventeenth-century Mughal India who finds himself irrevocably drawn to a defiant woman—and destined to be torn asunder by two clashing worlds. With every passing chapter of beauty and brutality, Alok’s interest in the stranger grows and evolves into something darker and more urgent.

Shifting dreamlike between present and past with intoxicating language, visceral action, compelling characters, and stark emotion, The Devourers offers a reading experience quite unlike any other novel.

Title: Prophecy of Convergence
Series: (Oracle's Path Book 1)
Author(s): Shannon Pemrick
Length:
Publisher:

Genre: Romantic Elements / Metaphysical Fantasy / Bisexual / #TBR

Notes: Love the cover and it is what made me stop and look, even though I could not make out the title. Authors who get flack from readers about the content add notes like she did... which is fine for me because it also tells me what is in it. LOL This releases August 15th

Blurb: The twisted dragon queen stirs…

Half-elf Oracle Aviana is no stranger to prophecies. With a strong connection since birth to the dragon god, Akorith, the dissonant whispers of fate have followed her from the beginning. And when an ominous warning foretelling of the destruction of her clan comes her way, she isn’t sure what to make of it.

Then when her younger sister needs to be prepared for her coming of age trial—a task that will test the woman’s fortitude and innocence—Aviana is the one tasked with showing her the world outside their secluded town. Her hands full with her sister’s childish nature, a foreboding prophecy is the last thing Aviana needs on her mind.

The signs of the prophecy, however, appear: pirate attacks, a fight with a dragon, and crossing paths with a cheerful dwarf and stunted, lecherous elf—and Aviana can’t ignore them. Things go from bad to worse, and she’ll have to trust her intuition and the most unlikely of allies to make it through, or the world will be plunged into chaos…

Readers who enjoy epic adventures, fantasy with a healthy dose of romance, and a strong heroine who defies all odds, won’t be able to put down Prophecy of Convergence, leaving you reading long into the night.

Buy Prophecy of Convergence and discover for yourself whether one determined Oracle can create her own fate, or whether she’ll be lost in the threads of prophecy…

-----
Note: Like all of Shannon Pemrick’s work, the Oracle’s Path series is NOT a clean read, or suited for younger audiences. This series isn’t for you if you enjoy your books free of strong language, violence, substance use, love scenes (including LGBTQ pairings), and other adult situations.

Title: Blood Cry
Series: Breath of Air Series
Author(s):K. De Long
Length: 275 pages
Publisher:

Genre: Bisexual Romance / Paranormal / Vampires / #reading

Notes: Content warning for gore. My demented mind got excited. LOL

Blurb: New, from New York Times bestseller K. De Long, comes a searingly intimate tale of love, disability, and survival. Underworld meets Everything, Everything.

He hunted someone to feed on. He found so much more.

Warric Evers has lived a cursed half-life ever since his mother made a deal with the devil to save him from sickness a century before. Outcast among vampires, a predator among humans, only the skies offer freedom. But when a skirmish leaves him injured, he needs a source of blood--and fast--if he's to take flight again. And his tracking skills have led him squarely to Sunny Rowan--more crucially, the immunoglobulin she injects for her failing immune system, distilled from the blood of so many healthy people, more potent than any other prey's blood would be.

Sunny Rowan thought her biggest problem was her life-threatening medical condition--but she's wrong.

She's about to find out just how very wrong.

Blood Cry is part of the Breath of Air multi-author series, a sweeping, magic-filled collection of paranormal romance from today's best-selling authors. K. de Long would like readers to be aware that Blood Cry contains material that may be upsetting to some readers, including mature content and gore.
