#PactDays : Keygan #ValespianPact

Welcome to Thursday's Pact Days! Today, we have the Keygan.

The info on the Keygan is a bit puny. Some info I had to withhold to keep from giving spoilers. The two Keygans in the series are Galactic Emperor Goth tut de Luuk and Crown Prince Malek tut de Luuk. Malek is betrothed to the missing Bespoken.

I'm placing these in alphabetical order so I won't unintentionally place importance on any specie. I will leave off information on the species that will spoil future books. News and Updates #unshakable #DevilsDawn #BlessedBane #gentleman #valespianpact

What am I doing? Trying to figure out what I want to post for today.

See, last Saturday, I injured my back. (stand on one leg, bend, twist, reach over the back of the couch to lift something heavy >> stupidity << I know better and yet I did it anyway.) So the week has been less than stellar which also means I haven't been as productive as I wanted. I haven't been too interested in reading as well, so when I looked in my folder for the Reading Radar I stopped. Nothing in it really inspires me. For the first time in a long while, I'm "meh" about starting a new book. I have read all the ones that I wanted, but anything else I'm indifferent about.

So I'll tell you what news I do have for the month of February.

There is actually a lot going on with Keeping Faith, Devil's Heart, Caledonia Destiny, Assassin's Retirement, and Constant.

At the end of the month, I will be receiving the rights back for Keeping Faith of the Unshakable series. I currently have no plans on re-publishing the book. If I did, then I would have to find the time to re-edit and expand some parts of it. This wasn't a great seller so I'm just going to put it to bed for a while.

Keeping Faith will be available until February 27th from all retailers.

Devil's Heart, the collaboration with Kenzie Kade, is out with the beta readers.

Caledonia Destiny: Blessed Bane is out with an editor. I will be self-publishing once we finally get it fixed. (I really messed up the book and fixing it has been a chore. :D )

If you haven't tuned in on Tuesdays, check it out. The blog story, Assassin's Retirement is going strong. I took a character from Keeping Faith and planned to write a fluffy holiday story. It quickly evolved into something entirely different. I'm pantsing the story so I have not idea where it is going from week to week. So far it has been a fun and stress free ride. For those just now starting the story, I have added the Table of Contents here and you'll find one at the bottom those pages as well.

Table of Contents
Chapter Six, Part 1 - Harbinger of a Nightmare
Chapter Seven, Part 1 - Stolen Answers
Chapter Eight, Part 1 - No such thing as heroes

I have been getting a lot of questions about the 3rd book of Valespian Pact. I'm working on the second draft of Constant. This month it will go out to beta readers and after it comes back I'll submit it to the publisher. So the release date is not scheduled yet.

Everybody expect book three to be Bespoken. But before we get there, this story about the Mar'Sani needed to be told. I should probably write a blog post about why that is. :)

And that is it! I have some rewrites and scenes I want to add to Constant before I look for beta readers. The book turned out longer than I had anticipated, not that I'm complaining. After last year, it's actually a very nice feeling to be this close to finishing a manuscript.

Thank you for stopping by and reading!!

#PactDay : Kankui (Extinct) #ValepsianPact

Welcome to Thursday's Pact Days! Today, we have the Kankui.

In Alpha Trine and Striker, we learned the Alpha-Zetamites had trines before they settled with the Dar Massaga. Then the Arthro War happened, leading to the V'Saar being imprisoned behind the grid. This is one of the species that had joined the Alpha-Zetamire in a trine.

A couple of side notes: For a list of species that have been posted so far, see the The People of Valespia page. I'm placing these in alphabetical order so I won't unintentionally place importance on any specie. I will leave off information on the species that will spoil future books. My standard sheet has the same categories for all species. So there will be blank categories just because that species didn't need them.

Species: Kankui (Extinct)
Planet: Shillon
Other races on the planet: Chocó, Alpha-Zetamite
Planetary Terrain: Jungles, rivers, lakes, oceans, some minor mountain ranges
Capitol: Umunukunu
Country: Kogui, Arhuaco and Wiwa,
Patron Ryo Pardeep: Alpha-Zetamite

Description

(This is a new addition. I will probably add things about this people as time goes on.)

The Kankui lived in harmony along side the Chocó, but didn't blend their family lines until the Alpha-Zetamites befriended them. Though, the presence of the Alpha-Zetamites made the Kankui curious about space, their merchants never stayed away from the planets, rotating their time trading with other species and staying home with family. They were a peaceful people but understood that not all were like them and set up defenses.

Offworlders were only allowed access to the main metro areas and not welcomed outside the boundaries of the urban areas.

The Kankui are Nature Shamans: They are highly spiritual and pay great reverence to the forces of nature. They are guided by the law of origin or ‘ley de origen' which they regard as being the traditional ancestral science of wisdom and knowledge which manages all that is material and spiritual. They believe adherence to this law is what guarantees the order and permanence of life, of the universe, and the people. The law of origin regulates the relationships between all living beings from the stones of the earth to beingkind itself. The sacred tribes of Iku, Kaggaba, and Sanka y Kankuama were given orders from the first fathers, making them the guardians of the world with the responsibility to guard the permanence of all forms of life so that there would be a continuing equilibrium and harmony between nature and beingkind.

The Kankui are extinct. At the beginning of the Anthro War, they were taken from their homeworld by the V'Saar.

What is on the Reading Radar? #TBR #wishlist

What am I doing? Constant rewrites continue and I've come up with a couple of scenes that I need to add. I thought Constant would be a breezy 35k to work through... It just might come out closer to 50k and I'm perfectly all right with that.

I'm also working on Chapter Ten of Assassin's Retirement. A poly romance with this many love interests is daunting, mainly because I have never attempted to write one like it before. I was thinking over last weekend that it's going to take a long time for a romance to develop between Zane and the others, which means more than one book or a really huge plot. (*laughs at myself because do I write small plots?*)  The thought stumped me for a second. I'm by writing the blog story by the seat of my pants, and thinking about a second book just makes my mind go blank. No joke. (For me) Pantsing a story doesn't lend itself well to thinking further in the further than the next two or three chapters. So I keep my thoughts in the now with the blog story.

In the meantime, what is on the wish list and TBR.

Wu Tien Xin, the silent invisible assassin. Nevarre, the Morrigan's own Shadow. And of course, her first two Blood, Alrik and Daire, inexperienced—but extremely powerful in their own right.

What am I doing? I'm back after a two week vacation that probably wasn't a vacation since I worked my butt off. I'm getting back into the swing of things in my new office space *happy wiggles* and the days are flying by.

I sent Devil's Heart out to be beta read. I'm going through the second draft of Constant (The Valespian Pact, 3). While on vacation I thought of some things that I needed to change or add, so there are several places where I need to do some rewriting. With luck, I could have this subbed to LT3 Press by mid-February. Y'all just don't know how awesome that is. :)

Author: Kora Knight
Length: 672 pages
Publisher:

Genre: Erotic Romance / Sci-Fi /

Notes:

Blurb: Emergency landing. Uncharted planet. Erotic captivity of epic proportions. Right when Captain Alec Hamlin thinks it can’t get any crazier, his team is sold to their captors’ mighty sovereign. King Zercy of the Kríe. Ruler of the planet’s most formidable species. Man, is he imposing. So regal and larger than life. And way too savagely handsome for Alec’s liking. From the first moment he laid eyes on him, he knew the Kríe was trouble, knew he needed to steer clear of him at all costs. But when Zercy chooses Alec to be his personal pet, all plans to dodge the male fall by the wayside. Alec is forced to spend each evening in the alluring king’s company, each night bound to the seductive king’s bed. Wholly at his mercy. Utterly defenseless, in his own mind and most especially his restless body. His struggle is real. Because the more Alec gets to know Zercy, the more he realizes two things. The Kríe king is damaged—unstable, not right, making him unpredictable and highly dangerous. But he is also innately kind beneath the raging storm that torments him. Kind and genuine, with a sad but beautiful soul. Something Alec fights with all he is, not to acknowledge. He can’t fall for Zercy. Zercy is the enemy. The captor of both Alec and his team. Which means Alec needs to get them out of there, before it’s too late. Before emotions overthrow logic and take control of the wheel. If only his body didn’t crave Zercy so fiercely, and his heart didn’t want him just as badly.

With Search and Rescue due any day, and Alec’s team getting antsy, Alec is forced to make a decision. He can’t have it both ways. Is he the captain of his men, bound to obligation, or is he a man in love with a Kríe?

Warning: Contains explicitly scorching gay sex with exotic and shamelessly kinky males of otherworldly descent.
