What is on the Reading Radar? #WishList #TBR

What's going on? Actually, nothing much. It's been a quiet, hot week. Even though it's been a quiet week, I still didn't get a jump on this post. Procrastinator, that's me.

Today it's about manga. Adult manga, so this is not something you'd recommend to kids under 18.

Series:
Author(s): Linda Sejic
Length: 175 pages

Genre: Manga / Mythology / Fantasy

Notes: I've seen this mentioned time and again and took the plunge. The artwork is gorgeous.

Blurb: Hades and Persephone's love-struck misadventures.

The classic tale of Greek mythology, but 100 percent more awkwardly relatable. Hades is the officious, antisocial ruler of the Underworld. Persephone, daughter of Demeter, is an earth goddess of growth and renewal—they've been crushing on each other for the past two centuries. But when a festival (and a little liquid courage) present an opportunity to put an end to their olympian will-they-won't-they, a meddlesome pantheon and several titanic misassumptions threaten to give every god in the sky the wrong impression...and leave their romance dead before it can bloom.

Series:
Author(s): Dechanique, Scary-T, Shari Hes, Noora Heikkilä, C. Spike Trotman, Gail Simone, Jess Fink, Leia Weathington, Savannah Horrocks, Amanda Lafrenais, skoptsy, B. Sabo, E. K. Weaver, Trudy Cooper, Nechama Frier

Length: 221 pages

Genre: Manga / Fantasy / Paranormal / Sci-Fi / Anthology / LGBTQ+

Notes: Since the comixology and the print version were about the same price, I purchased the print. It's really nice and the I loved seeing the different art styles. I enjoyed this and bought another volume in the anthology series.

Blurb: Smut Peddler Presents: My Monster Boyfriend is Iron Circus Comics' first full-color anthology project, featuring over 150 pages of cute monster boys and the folks lucky enough to be shagging 'em. Featuring a fantasticcover by skoptsy and comics by E.K. Weaver, Gail Simone, Trudy Cooper, Jess Fink, and more!

Title: Fine Print
Series:
Author(s): Stjepan Sejic
Length: 183 pages

Genre: Manga / Mythology / Fantasy / Paranormal / Poly

Notes: I've been hym-humming over this one. Part of it is that it's priced a little higher than the mangas I usually buy. But reading My Monster Boyfriend gave me courage and I bought it. :)

Blurb: How do you deal with a broken heart? Junk food? Excessive drinking? Dubious contracts with ancient gods? For Lauren Thomas, the queen of bad decisions, the answer is always the worst possible choice. So when she finds herself with the rare opportunity to have her broken heart patched by the highest-rated god of desire, what could possibly go wrong?

A tale of gods, mortals, love, lust, death, and bad decisions—that all starts with a simple bite of a golden apple.

Series:
Author(s):
Length: 344 pages

Genre: Manga / Fantasy / Paranormal / Sci-Fi / Anthology /

Notes: My Monster Boyfriend is the 3rd volume in this antholoy series. This one isn't in color and is a bit longer than volume 3. I've only read the first couple stories. Vastly different art styles.

Blurb: Indie comics' most sex-positive, lady-friendly, dirty little mini is back as a FULL-SIZED ANTHOLOGY! Smut Peddler began life in 2003 as a digest-sized minicomic, published by Saucy Goose Press. It was an anthology of erotic comics, with contributions from some of the best and the brightest creators. There were three issues, and they were AWESOME. But that was it. The third Smut Peddler mini was followed by a years-long publishing hiatus... Until NOW.

Series:
Author(s): Tim Seeley, Sarah Beattie
Length:

Genre: Manga / Sci-Fi /

Notes: The blurb promises a bit of camp but I was in denial. The first couple of panels made me sputter out a laugh. Poor dude.

Blurb: Physicist Dr. Christine Ocampo is on a mission to discover distant worlds, encounter exotic civilizations, seek out strange species, and, well, get busy with them. Space exploration is expensive business, but science calls and porn pays.
A STORY ABOUT SCIENTISTS HAVING SEX WITH ALIENS FOR THE GLORY OF MANKIND—AND MONEY.

In the near future, space travel is ludicrously expensive and largely ignored. Enter Christine Ocampo, inventor of the Star Shot teleportation device with a big idea: She'll travel to new worlds, engage—intimately—with local aliens, and film her exploits for a jaded earth populace trying to find something new on the internet. Now, Chris and her merry band of scientist-cum-pornstars explore the universe, each other, and the complexities of sex in MONEY SHOT!

Collects issues #1 to #5.
