What is on the Reading Radar? #WishList TBR #reading #read

I missed last Saturday's Reading Radar. My niece was in town. I was pushing through editing. Went to the doctor's. And I completely forgot about the Radar. Sorry about that!

Here is today's list. Lots of fun reads.

Title: The Source of Magic
Series: (The Other Human Species 1)
Author: Clare Solomon
Length: 182 pages

Genre: Urban Fatnasy / Coming of Age / Gay

Notes: I came upon this because I clicked to look at the 3rd book in the series. (It had just released.) I'm not keen on young adults, but this first book in the series was on sale so I decided to give it a try. I've had good luck with new-to-me authors the last few weeks. I'm hoping this is another one.

Blurb: Two boys. Two forms of magic. One powerful combination.

When Elliot Rivers, a Homo Sapiens, becomes friends with Barve, a Nean (Neanderthal) on their first day at university he has no idea of the conflict and fury it will cause among the students and staff, as well as within his family. To make matters more difficult, Barve’s argumentative brother, Farlden, hates Elliot.

Elliot and Farlden both possess the rare gift of magic. The discovery that it becomes stronger when they combine their abilities creates a connection between them and, against their will, it draws them closer together, slowly changing animosity to something far more dangerous.

The Nean brothers are keeping an extraordinary secret, though, one that could shatter their complex relationships with Elliot and change all their lives.

Title: The Captain's Mate
Series: Blue Solace book 6
Author: CW GRay
Length: 235 pages

Genre: Romance / Sci-Fi / Audiobook / Gay

Notes: This such a fun, angst free series. #read

Blurb: Welcome back to Charybdis Station and the crew of the Blue Solace: (Sixth Book in the series)

Draif Ando started life as a slave on Vextonar. When he was fifteen, he met his best friend, Leti Ando, and life got a lot better. Now he's a Charybdis Station captain and works closely with the Lord Admiral of the Station. He is a free man, finally has a purpose of his own, and has the the best lieutenant in the galaxy by his side. If he's so content, why does he yearn for more, and why is he suddenly picturing children with his eyes and Lucas' ears and tail?

Lucas Meluth knew that Draif was his life mate from the moment they met. He also knew that Draif was demisexual and wasn't attracted to Lucas. Not at first. Now, Lucas notices the way Draif's eyes follow him and the way Draif's innocent touches are suddenly not so innocent. Has the time come for their friendship to turn into more?

Draif and Lucas may finally be figuring their relationship out, but their enemies are approaching and it's time to protect Charybdis Station and rid the galaxy of Humans First, once and for all.

Author's Note: 55,000 words. This is a sci-fi/fantasy, m/m love story with no angst and no cheating, just a HEA. There is lots of action, a little sex, mpreg, and a few potty mouths involved in the story. 18+ readers only, please. It is also the sixth book in a series that is best read in order. Read "The Mercenary's Mate," "The General's Mate," "The Soldier's Mate," "The Lieutenant's Mate," and "The Engineer's Mate" first!

Title: Beth's Stable
Series: (Stolen by an Alien Book 6)
Author: Amanda Milo
Length: 376 pages

Genre: Romance / Sci-Fi / RH / MFMMMMM

Notes: #read This was pretty fun. Pirates and more pirates. Ekan reminded of a Loki character and he was such a blast because I didn't know what he was going to do next.

Blurb: They say that in space, no one can hear you...(Yeah, you know what I'm quoting.)

But there are lots of places you can still scream and be heard. Especially if you suddenly find yourself on a ship traveling through space.I’ve been abducted by aliens and auctioned to an alien pirate.

My epic love of movies sort of comes in handy, what with all the sci-fi suddenly in my face. Therefore, I don’t completely lose my mind when my new owner takes me to his ship where I learn I’m under the control of not one, but *five* space pirates.

(...And it’s not scary at all when I only meet four of them, and everyone warns me away from the mystery fifth alien.)

Luckily, they’re not deterred by the fact that I've come to them carrying a passenger.

I’m pregnant.

Last I saw my ex, he was hell-bent on giving me another beating I wouldn’t forget. But with my new 'owners,' I’m safe for the first time in a long time--and so is my little girl. Not that everything is all raindrops on roses, and innocent kittens: they’re pirates. They’ve got a real addiction to plundering, and a passion for purloining.

I’m pretty fond of the former, but when it comes to the thieving, I’m afraid they’re going to take more than my body.
...Piece by piece, all five of my pirates are stealing my *heart.*

Beth’s Stable is 125K words, and has a HEA with hot pirates.

**Note: Beth’s Stable is a standalone Reverse Harem romance where five men woo one woman. They’re space pirates, but there are no crossed energy sabers in this story. There is a Happily Ever After. You should probably be at least 18 if you crack open this ebook because Beth would hate to corrupt you. (Although if her pirates had met you before they grew completely, totally devoted to her, they would have loved showing you the ropes. Sorry, doves! ;D

Title: Won by an Alien
Series: (Stolen by an Alien Book 3)
Author: Amanda Milo
Length: 388 pages

Genre: Romance / Sci-Fi / MFM / audiobook

Notes: #reading

Blurb: I was abducted by aliens. The aliens that I've been auctioned to don’t speak my language, and I definitely can’t speak theirs.
I didn’t expect to get married by accident to the sweet one.
I didn’t expect to have a grumpy alien bond to me, and go a little crazy if other males get near me, or if I try to leave.
It doesn’t matter if they’ve won my heart.
I can’t stay.
Somehow, I have to explain that I NEED to go home. Because the bad aliens that abducted me?
They took me from my babies.

**Note:
For those of you that prefer not to be surprised, there are TWO heroes in this story. It is a Happily Ever After with three people, a mini Reverse Harem set up of MFM (male/female/male) that doesn't quite classify as Menage... and you'll find out why. ♥
For those of you who DO prefer to be surprised… pretend you didn’t read this warning! ;)

This is Tara's Story. It technically *can* be read as a stand-alone, however, previous books in the series set up events in this book.

Title: Assimilation, Love, and Other Human Oddities

Title: Just This Once
Series: (Just Us Book 1)
Author: Roxanne Riley
Length: 62 pages

Genre: Romance / MMF / Bisexual / Poly / Contemporary

Notes: I'm reading this for a reading group. I didn't realize that it was so short until now. #reading

Blurb: Two men at the same time. Just this once. Right?

Love doesn’t come easily for Lacey anymore. Ever since long-distance romance tore her away from her high school sweetheart, Adam, she’s faced nothing but heartbreak.

Still recovering from the latest in a string of terrible relationships, Lacey pays a visit to her best friend. Dragged out to Ecstasia, a nightclub that turns out to be more than it seems, she’s shocked when she runs into the ghost that’s haunted her all these years… and his fiancé, Dante.

Adam and Dante were out at Ecstasia to fulfill a mutual bisexual fantasy of theirs: to share a beautiful woman, just for a night. When they run into Lacey, Dante can’t keep his eyes off her beautiful curves. When he suggests they cast her in the part of their fantasy girl, Adam can’t help himself, because he remembers just how sweet she tastes.

Both men want to share Lacey, while enjoying their love the way they always do at the same time. She wants to bask in all the pleasure they have to offer her, and each other. She figures why not give in to their little experimental fling idea, and bring herself some happiness again, too? Things might get complicated though, with ties that run so deep.

Will this old flame start a raging fire that can’t be contained by any of the three of them?

Just This Once is a bisexual menage romance with high heat MM and MFM scenes (swords do cross in this one!). It has no cliffhangers and no cheating but it does have a very happy ever after and lots of steam.

Painfully aware of just how ugly he is, Roi believes Xiu could never care about him, and one day something happens to bring Xiu's wrath down on Roi. What must he do to gain the fire god’s favor?

Title: The Guppy Prince
Series: (The Silver Isles Book 1)
Author: CW Gray
Length: 208 pages

Genre: Romance / Paranormal / Sea Shifters /

Notes: #reading

Blurb: Dover Rees is a guppy tailed merman and the youngest child of the King of the Southern Silver Isles. Despite the lofty title, he fits in better with the other guppy tailed working class than with his royal siblings. Dover spends his days secluded in his creek, successfully avoiding the King’s court and all the judgmental nobles there. Then, the most wonderous and horrible thing happens. He hears the mating call and knows his alpha is waiting for him.

Ben Elliot is just a human trying to get by in a small tourist beach town. He has his art and a few good friends, and that should be enough, right? Wrong. Coming home to a quiet house and an empty bed starts to wear on him, but none of the omegas he knows appeal to him. Until a storm knocks him off his fishing boat and he’s rescued by a mysterious, blue-haired omega.

Together, Dover and Ben forge a bond strong enough to stand against the storm of corrupt lords, court politics, and a cursed king.

Author's Note: Around 47,000 words. This is a paranormal, merman, mpreg insta-love story with no angst and no cheating, just a HEA. There are a few potty mouths, so beware. 18+ readers only, please. It is book one in The Silver Isles series.
