What is on the Reading Radar #read #wishlist #TBR

This week has been full of edits on Sumeria's Sons, Surrounded by Crimson and Dragon's Eye, so that I can get them back out on the market. Next week promises to be the same. :D

Reading-wise... I Binged on AJ Sherwood.

Title: How to Shield an Assassin
Series: Unholy Trifecta, 1
Author: AJ Sherwood
Length: 269 pages

Genre: Romance / Contemporary / Gay /

Notes or thoughts: So I read through her Paranormal mysteries this week and hopped on this one, not sure if it would catch me. I'm so picky about contemporary romances, since my taste in books run to the UF/Fantasy/Sci-Fi/Paranormal genres. This not only caught me but held me hostage until I read the last word. LOVED IT. Excellent read. I can't wait to get my hands on the next one.

Blurb: It’s not stealing if you’re stealing it back….

Ari had a game plan for life. Shoot people. Get money. Hang out with fellow criminal friends. He saw absolutely no reason to change that plan until one dark night in Memphis, when a little girl reached out to him with pocket change and a desperate plea for him to help her.

Adopting an abused little girl off the streets was, needless to say, not part of the plan. Ari had no idea what he was doing with an eight year old. He especially didn’t know how to juggle taking contracts and raising a little girl.

Things get more complicated when the mercenary, Carter Harrison, approaches him with a job. He needs Ari’s expertise to get into the very high-security museum, Knowles, and steal back Monet’s Water Lily Pond. The job isn’t an easy one. He’d need more than the two of them to make it happen. It’s further complicated because Ari’s not sure what to do with his new daughter while working this job.

And for that matter, how’s he supposed to handle the sexy mercenary?

Title: Jon's Crazy Head-Boppin' Mystery
Series: Jon's Mysteries, 2
Author: AJ Sherwood
Length: 201 pages

Genre: Romance / Contemporary Paranormal / Psychics / Gay / Bisexual /

Notes or thoughts: The first book was excellent and I loved the second just as much. I heard that this series will be released on audiobook as well and I can't wait. *makes grabby hands*

Blurb: I’m rather used to the crazy cases, because let’s face it, most cops can handle the run-of-the-mill with their eyes closed. I’m only called in when the situation is weird or they need to solve the case fast.

This case is a little of both.

Someone’s attacking women as they get off of work, hitting them in the back of the head. What started as a case of battery has steadily built up to homicide. With three murders, six victims, and no leads, the Clarksville PD are desperate to catch the assailant. But there’s no real leads for us to follow, either, and for once my eyes can’t really help.

A madman running around attacking women is bad enough, but the police are demanding answers we can’t give them, and they’re not taking no for an answer. It’s pushing us all past our limits, and frankly, I don’t know what’s going to break first: The case or Donovan’s patience.

Title: Jon's Spooky Corpse Conundrum
Series: Jon's Mysteries, 3
Author: AJ Sherwood
Length: 207 pages

Genre: Romance / Contemporary Paranormal / Psychics / Gay / Bisexual /

Notes or thoughts: I don't usually binge read series because sometimes it ruins the series for me. Usually it has to do with a character quirks/attitudes that I find annoying, and I can ignore something like that for one book, but it will drive me away if I binge. There is nothing about these characters or stories that bug me, and at the end of each book I wanted More Now. Such a great series and I CANNOT wait for the next book. I'm dying to meet Donovan's brother!! *happy wiggles* Read this series y'all. Just do it!

Blurb: I’ve investigated some pretty strange cases in my life, but I have to say this is a first. A corpse—a murder victim—has gone missing during the middle of an investigation, and no one has any clue where it went. Psy is called in to clear the investigative team, make sure they’re not an accomplice. It’s a four hour drive outside of Nashville, to a place famous for being haunted, so none of us are particularly eager to go.

And then we arrive on scene and I see who we’re dealing with and I want nothing more than to turn around and go right back to Nashville.

This case is complicated and strange, and absolutely nothing is as it seems at first glance. Even with my eyes, it’s going to take some digging to get to the truth.

Title: Cauldron Cake Pops and a Witch's Kiss
Series: Holiday Omegas, 1
Author: CW Gray
Length: 46 pages

Genre: Romance / Paranormal / Gay /

Notes or thoughts: This was a sweet and adorable PNR short story.

Blurb: Holiday Omegas: Book One

Sonny is an omega witch with a huge crush on the alpha bear shifter next door. Unfortunately, every time they meet, Sonny’s normal sassy personality disappears and he becomes a shy, babbling idiot.

Leo is captivated by the adorable kitchen witch that lives in his apartment building, but what could Leo possibly offer him? Thanks to his ex, Leo knows he’s not exactly the greatest catch. The problem is, Leo’s bear knows Sonny is his mate.
Fed up with their awkward mating dance, Sonny and Leo’s friends decide All Hallows’ Eve is the perfect time to cause a little mischief to bring the two together.

Author's Note: 10,000 word short story. This is a paranormal omegaverse love story with no angst and no cheating. There are a few potty mouths, so beware. 18+ readers only, please. This series also contains mpreg, though it is not seen in this book.

Title: Witchy Boys: Sexy Stories for the Dark Nights
Series:
Author: Katey Hawthorne
Length: 56 pages

Genre: Romance / UF / Gay /

Notes or thoughts: Next up on the reading list!

Blurb: Just in time for Halloween! Two novelettes about men with magic—and the occasional demon.

"Blood Magic and the Mini Zombie Apocalypse"
Griff has a bad habit of getting talked into black magic he shouldn’t be using—but this time it’s even worse. His ex is bent on revenge in the form of a mini zombie apocalypse, and the only person who can help Griff is a hottie white magic practitioner named Blythe. The catch: one of Griff’s spells gone wrong left Blythe with a haunted apartment a year ago, and Blythe isn’t over it.

Still, Blythe agrees to work with Griff. As they unravel the ugly blood, sex, and death magic, they also discover surprising things about each other. Hopefully, it’s enough for the ultimate trust they’ll need to defeat a lot of zombies and a crazed witch, or their town will end up covered in corpses.

"Præsidium"
Six years ago, Thackeray agreed to let a demon haunt him in exchange for help hunting other demons. It's a lonely life, but worth it to be the best demon hunter possible -- to save families from the kind of evil that ruined his own childhood.

This Hallowe'en, Thackeray's dealing with an upstart coven. A powerful, pretty witch named Matt defects to help Thackeray stop their scheme to invite god-knows-what from the other side.

Demons are much easier to fight than the urges Matt's flirting inspires. But Thackeray can't hook up with a demon watching over his shoulder... can he?

This is a reprint of the book by the same name published in October 2016. The only differences are the cover and minor editorial changes
