What's on the Reading Radar? #read #TBR #WishList

I have missed posting the last couple of weeks. No real reason other than I forgot or remembered after the fact. I'm still on a reread cycle with the Murderbot series with some other books in between. I even went looking at my reread book list to see if there was something else I would like to reread because I don't want to burn myself out on rereading the series. It has happened to me before and I would rather not experience that sort of disappointment again.

On a funny note, my husband finally, FINALLY asked what it was about the series that I loved so much. I talked and talked until he 'took the dog for a potty break'. He was edging out the door and I was still talking. I did not start back up when he came back in. I figured the torture had lasted long enough.

In the meantime, I did read some preorders that came in, though I haven't really looked for new books to read. Lucky, I have a list that I save specifically for the Reading Radar to go through.

Series: The Olympus Pride, 3
Author: Suzanne Wright
Length: 371 pages

Genre: Romance / Paranormal

Notes: I'm glad this book is about Aspen and Camden and not Luke (not really interested). I was hoping for this story because I was really curious and I love friends-to-lovers. Man, the denial is heavy on both sides. #reading

Blurb: Aspen Montgomery was nine-years-old when she befriended Camden Priest—a boy with dead eyes and dark urges. Since that day, they’d been inseparable. She hadn’t expected to later develop a major crush on him. Or expected that the crush would fail to pass. Or ever thought that she'd grow to wish that she could one day claim him as her mate. It’s never going to happen. She knows that. To him, she's a friend, nothing more. So it’s time to make some changes to establish some better boundaries. Which would be a hell of a lot easier if he didn't fight her on it.

There is only one person in the world that Camden Priest gives a damn about—Aspen. She's his best friend, his anchor, his conscience, the very reason he's sane. There's only one secret he ever kept from her … he wants more than friendship. Knowing she doesn't feel the same, he put a chokehold on his need for her. But when some asshole claims to be Aspen's true mate and danger starts closing in on her, Camden's control becomes precarious and platonic lines are crossed. He knows what he should do—leave it at a one-night stand to protect their friendship. He's just not so sure he can.

Series: Ghostly Guardians, 1
Author: Louisa Masters
Length: 239 pages

Genre: Romance / Paranormal /

Notes: I enjoyed this take on ghosts and mediums. I am not a fan of the Assumption Trope, when someone makes the wrong assumption at a glance and doesn't do anything to make sure that assumption was right (or wrong). Despite that, once things were resolved it was enjoyable. I am looking forward to the next book to see how things turn out with the vortex.

Blurb: When you can talk to ghosts, things are bound to get spirited.

The ghosts have been there since before I can remember. When I was a kid, they doted on me, but as I got older, they got more demanding. I’ve spent my whole life seeing and talking to dead people and trying to pretend I’m not, because the living just don’t understand. Nobody wants to be around the freak who claims to see ghosts.
Until I go to Mannix Estate.

Once a private country home, then a posh hotel, it was closed after a suspicious incident but is now an immersive historic experience. It’s also haunted AF, and everyone knows it. Finally, I’ve found a place to work and live where I can be useful. Where I’m actually wanted.

There are only two problems: I spent a hot, sweaty, satisfying night with Ewan the blacksmith before I knew we’d have to work together. Everyone knows sex with colleagues is a bad idea, right? Even if he’s the world’s most ripped cinnamon roll.

Plus, the ghosts are keeping secrets. There’s something going on that’s not normal, even for a haunted estate. And I suspect that when the truth comes out, I’m the one who’ll have to deal with it… and it won’t be good.

Series: Aura, 4
Author: Bellora Quinn, Angel Martinez
Length: 276 pages

Genre: Romance / Alternate World / Fantasy / Gay /

Notes: I really look forward to jumping back into this world. Ryld's Shadows releases on March 8th. I'm going to have to reread the other books in the series first, I think. I remember the basics of the world, but need a refresher on all the characters.

Blurb: AURA’s offices have been quiet since the mage tower incident—as quiet as they can be for an agency dedicated to policing holes in reality—and the department heads have been free to turn their attention back to mundane matters. The return to quiet bureaucracy gives AURA’s Director of Research, Kai Hiltas, the time to turn his energy to a new issue—a young drow with unusual and dangerous powers named Ryld.

Though his shadows always lurk at the edges of his vision, Ryld does his best to live peacefully and not let them hurt anyone. He has his work, his apartment and a succession of minders assigned by AURA who are, ostensibly, there to keep him safe in his new world and to prevent him from causing any scenes with his shadows. Most of the time, the arrangement works. But one disastrous incident causes Ryld’s minder to leave him unattended and lost—the precise thing he was hired to prevent.

To replace the faithless minder, Kai suggests Hank, a half-goblin accountant recently in the middle of a string of terrible luck, while Kai works out how best to get Ryld the magical training he so desperately needs. For his part, Hank truly likes Ryld and insists he would be happier working as Ryld’s companion rather than as a controlling minder.

As Hank and Ryld slowly come to terms with sharing space—and eventually more—Kai’s search for a teacher for Ryld takes them out west on the invitation of the Elvenhome’s aelfe queen and right into the lap of inter-elven feuds, ancient prejudice, conspiracies and trafficking rings. What should have been a pleasant visit soon turns into more than even forever-scheming Kai can handle.

Series: Pizza Shop Exorcist, 5
Author: Dakota Brown
Length: 226 pages

Genre: Romance / Urban Fantasy / RH

Notes: I'm behind in this series. I have really been enjoying it and I'm really glad that it's now complete!

Blurb: This is the fifth and final book in The Pizza Shop Exorcist series!

Birthdays, marriages, career changes, deaths; these are the pivotal moments almost everyone can relate to. Too bad all of mine seem to be centered around demons.

When my parents died at the hands of a demon, I quit doing exorcisms. I hoped to be finished with the creeping darkness below. But it wasn't done with me. I tried to settle into life at my family's pizza parlor and, slowly, became content with the relatively carefree life it offered and the companionship of my vibrator. Then Darius, a friend from my old life, barged his way into my new one with an exorcism he couldn't handle.

Now I'm hip deep in hellhounds, my heart willingly bound to several demons, a vampire, a half-angel, and a mage. My main mode of transportation these days? A demonic horse that I love dearly.

Unfortunately, the forces of Heaven and Hell are conspiring against me. I'm tired of their shit, and my men and I are ready to go on the offensive. The last thing this world needs is an apocalypse and, to keep us all safe, I'll do anything in my power to defeat both angels and demons once and for all, even if it defeats me in the end.

Author's Note: I promise I love these characters as much as you do. If you get to a certain point and want to throw your kindle—don't they're expensive—and call me a monster, that's fair, but keep reading. I promise you'll get a HEA.

This book is intended for mature audiences. 18+ readers only! It contains language and sexual situations. This is a medium burn reverse harem where the girl gets all the guys. Why Choose? Harem members added as series progresses.

Thank you for stopping by and reading!!
