What is on the Reading Radar? #read #WishList #TRB

So... it is Saturday morning, and I'm hastily putting together this post because I've been caught up with Cherish (The Valespian Pact, 4). I completed my self-edits. Yay! I still have things to do, like write the Author's Note, Acknowledgements, Glossary of Terms, maybe a short character list, and the BLURB. I don't even know where to start on the blurb. The next step is to send it out for the first rounds of edits. I don't have a release date and won't think about planning one until the edits are complete, especially when I don't know how long all the rounds of edits will take.

In the meantime, BOOKS!

Series: (Legends of Lobe den Herren Book 2)
Author(s): AJ Sherwood
Length: 306 pages

Genre: Romance / Fantasy / Gay /

Notes: This was just what I needed. I loved the different POVs and being able see inside the head and hearts of the characters. The empress was pretty crafty. And I cannot tell you how excited I am that O’ Broín is going to get a book. Dude! Just give it to me now!

Blurb: Ren’s homecoming wishlist includes:

•Arman not bashing everyone’s heads together (at least not without him)
•Getting the fortress built before the Mongs attack (not at the rate they’re going with all the thefts happening)
•Going home without incident (also, again, not likely)

What it did not include was:

•Social reform
•A child
•A raiding party
•Arman actually using his words

Life once again proved reality is better than fantasy, and Ren couldn’t be happier.

Except for the Mongs. He could do without the Mongs.

Tags:
Homecoming, Arman actually uses his words, it’s a miracle, children, homophobic idiots, supportive brother, surprise visits from royalty, Ren would like to point out this was not his idea, words are hard, if you have to build a fortress do it right the first time, Arman promises to not beat the whole country to a pulp for scorning his marriage, maybe, no promises, parenting is hard, someone should have warned Arman, raiding parties are their jam, O’ Broín is a good bro, matchmaking, social change, Arman sucks at giving hints, absolutely no one is surprised by this, fantasy becomes reality

Title: Peregrine
Series: Forbidden Desires
Author(s): Piper Scott, Virginia Kelly
Length: 347 pages

Genre: Romance / Paranormal / Mpreg / Gay

Notes: So I finally finished reading this. I always liked Sebastian and always thought he was smarter than his brothers because he listened to his inner self/dragon. Through his brother's eyes he was brutish and someone of few words, great at being a destructive dragon, and maybe not too smart. I figured Sebastian had them fooled because he found his mate, and 500 years later, his brothers were still without theirs until Alistar found Nate. But as I was saying, I liked Sebastian and I am glad that I got to read how his romance with Perry unfolded, even with as sad as it sometimes was. If you have read the series, you already know about the guy who keeps playing havoc with the Drakes and their mates. Raven. I'm just going to put it out there right now. I don't think I can read Raven's book. There are things that happened in this book that are, I feel, Raven and Bertram's fault. I might have rolled with if the two had not shown up at the end of this book. I am sure there are a ton of things that I haven't seen about those two, but I don't have a sympathetic bone in my body for either one of them.

Blurb: 1508

Sebastian Drake, stoic protector of the Drake family, always gets what he wants—and there is nothing he wants more than the half-starved Pedigree omega named Peregrine he comes across on his travels. It doesn’t matter that Peregrine is a Disgrace. Sebastian will do whatever it takes to keep him… and somehow, as impossible as it might be, find a way to be his mate.

Present Day

For hundreds of years, Peregrine has enjoyed life as Sebastian’s mate. Sure, as one of the only bonded omegas in recent history he’s been kidnapped more times than he can count, but with Sebastian there to save him it’s little more than an inconvenience. And attacks from hostile clans? That’s just a typical Tuesday.

But there is one thing Peregrine fears, yet desperately wants.

One thing that has hurt him time and time again.

One thing Sebastian can’t save him from.

And now it’s happening again.

He’s pregnant.

Peregrine is an 85,000 word omegaverse mpreg romance set prior to as well as following the events of the Forbidden Desires series. It has answers to questions you’ve been dying to know and contains heartache, laughter, origin stories, meddling reptilian families with huge hearts, exotic locales, a dash of danger, and a love story five hundred years in the making. For maximum enjoyment, Peregrine is best read following the events of Clutch, Bond, Mate, Swallow, Magpie, and Finch.

Series: (Kraken's Cult Book 1)
Author(s): Kaye Draper
Length:

Genre: Romance / Urban Fantasy / RH

Notes: Next up!

Blurb: Half kraken, half fae Environmental Police Agency enforcer Iolani Lionheart has everything a person could ever want—looks, money, family connections, power, more degrees and certifications than she can count…. Too bad that’s all anyone ever wants her for. Io is a fling, a means to an end, an asset to be used and tossed aside. Too intimidating, too arrogant and eccentric, she’s not someone you keep. But what her clingy kraken and indulgent fae natures want more than anything is a mate (or mates) to hoard.

After her most recent power-hungry lover betrays her, Iolani is fed up and desperate to get away. An ocean-side investigation in Florida sounds like a great way to get her mind off her moping and get some much-needed saltwater rest and relaxation. She might even find a fun partner to help her forget the latest disaster of a relationship. But of course, nothing is that easy.

The simple pollution case she’s investigating turns out to be more complicated that she had hoped, one of her exes returns to haunt her, and the cute water nymph barista she’s been wooing might be unable to accept Io’s fluid gender and intimidating family—just like so many others before her.

Would anyone blame her if Io just started eating everyone who pissed her off?

The Kraken’s Cult series takes place in the same universe as the Gesa’s Menagerie and Gods and Demons series, but with a new cast of characters. This series takes place thirty years after the events in Gods and Demons, in a world where supes are (mostly) integrated with human society. While reading the previous series might give you a deeper experience or insight into side characters, Kraken’s Cult is also able to be read as a standalone series.

Series: Countdown, 1
Author: K-lee Klein
Length:

Genre: Romance / Contemporary / Gay

Notes:

Blurb: Matteo and Gabe have everything they could ever want out of life, except a family of their own. When Gabe's bossy twin sister offers to be their surrogate, it's too good to turn down. But with his sister running the show, the new dads-to-be begin to wonder if they're going to survive the nine-month countdown.

Originally published in 2012 - this is a total rewrite with a new cover.

Series: Familiar and the Mage
Author: Honor Raconteur
Length: 295 pages

Genre: Epic Fantasy / Sword and Sorcery

Notes:

Blurb: While Bannen had every intention of finding adventure, being yanked through a magical portal two continents away isn’t quite what he imagined happening. For that matter, being magically bound to a mage-in-training hadn’t ever crossed his mind.

Being the first human familiar ever summoned in Corcoran? Not on his to-do list.

Rena certainly needs all of the help that she can get, as her magic is very different, inhibiting her of the normal shields and protections. Everyone says her summoning a human familiar is a mistake, that she needs to break the bond and send Bannen back.

But Bannen doesn’t like this idea, not one iota. Renata Rocci has the magic of a Grim Reaper, the heart of a lion, and a body too frail to keep up with either. She can face assassins; meddlesome mages; politicians; and legendary, nightmarish monsters without flinching. Without losing and that’s sexy as sin.

This is definitely not the adventure he signed up for.

It’s far, far better.

Thank you for stopping by and reading!!
