Over this coming week, I will be posting video readings for a selection of my titles. I'll talk about my plans for the books or the series that are in the works. Plus there is a giveaway (see below).
The first excerpt that I'm reading is from Darksoul. For those not familiar with the story, part one was written for a GoodReads group summer of last year. I had anticipated the complete story would be released already, but things happened that delayed the progress. I quit trying to forecast the release because I'm always wrong.
I'm feeling optimistic at the moment. I've received the first rounds of edits from the editor. Still not forecasting, but we are definitely closer to the end.
About the readings!
There is a reason why authors don't narrate their own books. You're going to spend a week listening to me read different excerpts. They are all all right, barely. I can't read in different voices, my facial expressions are odd, and I stumble over words. It doesn't matter how many times I've read a section aloud, something will trip me up. So beware! :)
Blurb:
If Sūnder Alard had been born female he would have been cherished for being Feyborn—born with magick—and his birth celebrated. Instead, the L'fin insisted on his death. Only his Panthrin father's desperate escape saved him. With most Chandarians uneasy in his presence due to whispers that he is doomed to become a darksoul, and unlikely to find a mate because of it, Sunder has nevertheless carved out an honorable existence as a warrior and commander. Now bodyguard and chaperone for the Chandarian prince, Sūnder attends the annual mating festival on Earth with his charge. He can't help but be fascinated by Gabriel St. Baptista, the tongue-tied nurse he meets after the prince's accident.
When he was sixteen, Gabe came home to discover his parents had headed out into space, leaving him behind. Gabe never recovered from the unexpected desertion and keeps everyone at arm's length to avoid being abandoned again. However, after meeting Sūnder, Gabe finds himself unable to resist the bond between them and breaks all of his carefully crafted rules to spend time with the Chandarian—regardless of the fact that Sūnder will soon leave Earth. Scared by how fast he is falling for Sūnder, Gabe just hopes his heart won't be too broken when Sūnder leaves.
Neither expects the deceit and treachery stalking them, and when Gabe saves Sūnder's life, it sets off a chain of events that could either tear Gabe and Sūnder apart—or give them both exactly what they want.

Happy birthday! I hope you are having a wonderful day! I love ION series. Sumeria's Sons and Valespian Pact are great too.
ReplyDeleteI loved the short of this and can't wait for the longer story to be finished. Meanwhile I suppose I'll have to be happy rereading all your other books.
ReplyDeleteDarksoul is the best! I finally gave up waiting the the full version ( =P ) and totally loved it. Great story!
ReplyDeleteI know it's taken time to get this completed version of Darksoul finished. I thought that self-pubbing would mean it would be out quicker and I was so wrong. Every time I turned around a road block popped up or something happened out of my control. So I'm hoping the story will be worth the wait. The story is in the 1st round of edits, so I'm hoping it won't be too much longer. But I don't want to jinx myself, you know? :)
DeleteHappy birthday! Awesome giveaway and my choice is ION, Sumeria's Sons and Valespian Pact. Ty so much. :-)
ReplyDeleteValespian Pact, Sumeria's Sons, ION is my choice
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!
I already have ION, so my list would have to be: Valespian Pact or Sumeria's Sons. Happy Birthday!!!
