What's on the Reading Radar? #WishList #TBR #read

Another quick week. October flew by almost as fast as September. Cherish's edits are wrapping up and I'm looking forward to setting a pre-order date. Yay!

I actually got a lot of reading done and you are going to see a theme with an author since I'm delving into their backlist to see what they have.

Title: Written
Series: The Librarian's Coven, 1
Author: Kathryn Moon
Length: 226 pages

Genre: Romance / Fantasy Historical / Paranormal / Bisexual / Polyam /

Thoughts: This is a good, spookyish read for Halloween. I really enjoyed the writing style that painted elegant pictures without bogging down the scene or being too wordy. I wish more about Joanna's was given. She's very self deprecating and doesn't know her own worth. This plays into the plot a little bit but doesn't dominate. I really enjoyed seeing her grow and really liked that there were POVs from the MMCs. It also inspired me to look up other books by this author.

Blurb: From her first step onto Canderfey University's campus Joanna Wick, the new librarian-in-training, is overwhelmed by the bustle of people and the wealth of magical information now available to her. Most overwhelming of all, she attracts the attention of three handsome professors. But Aiden King, Callum Pike, and Isaac Metclaffe are a coven waiting to find their fourth and complete their home and Joanna knows she can't be that witch. She's barely magical.

When danger crawls onto the campus from the edges of the Hand Woods, and irrepressible feelings crawl into her heart, Joanna Wick must explore her own identity and abilities.

Aiden has been waiting twenty years to complete his coven. Callum doesn't want to disappoint his covenmates by turning down another potential fourth. Isaac has found a home with them both and only wants the best for his lovers. Have they found what they've all been waiting for in the skittish new hire at the university library?

Written by Kathryn Moon is a Reverse Harem Romance and the first book in The Librarian's Coven series.

Series: Tempting Monsters, 1
Author: Kathryn Moon
Length: 405 pages

Genre: Erotic Romance / Historical Paranormal Romance / Bisexual /

Thoughts: Erotic romances are not my usual fair and I gave this book a chance because of the series title. Lots and lots of sex, y'all, but it wasn't meaningless and it wasn't repetitious, which is saying a lot considering how spicy it is. There is also a bit of a nemesis plot going on that added intrigue. There are five love interests and they are all so completely different in personality that I didn't have trouble distinguishing who from who. I really enjoyed this much more than I thought I would and I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

Blurb: On the brink of losing her position as a maid and with no prospects to go on, the offer of a place at Rooksgrave Manor—a house of ill and unusual repute—sounds like a perfect fit for a young woman with Esther’s inclinations. Even better, the invitation comes by the hand of the handsome Dr. Underwood, a delicate gentleman with a ferocious alter ego who knows exactly what he wants from Esther.

Upon arrival, the men and the daily decadence of the manor feel too good to be true for a girl of Esther’s station. There are rules to be followed, expectations to meet, and Esther is afraid she might be too wicked even for a place like Rooksgrave.

Temptations lurk around every shadowy corner and Esther has never been a girl able to resist. But the risk of disappointing her new gentlemen isn’t all that’s threatening Esther’s new position. Rooksgrave Manor’s protections for its unusual patrons are failing, the wards are crumbling, and Esther’s new and exquisitely pleasurable life may all come tumbling down.

Title: Good Deeds
Series:
Author: Kathryn Moon
Length: 252 pages

Genre: Romance / Sic-Fi / Omega Heat / RH

Thoughts: I have been looking for a book like this for a long time. All the love interests are love-bots on the brink of being decommissioned. She needs to share her heat with someone(s) who she won't mate with during her heat. They need someone to repair them and their establishment. It's fast burn, obviously since she's starting her heat when she knocks on their door. The MMCs are all different kind of androids with different purposes and different personalities. There is a bit of a mystery with someone trying to kidnap her, and obviously it all works out to a HEA. This is a standalone and I would really love to see more books in this world.

Blurb: Nötchka Uumian, solo-scavenger and pilot, only came to Bandalier for business. But when her first ever heat cycle hits, she has two choices: get off the planet or find somewhere safe to ride out the heatburns. Determined to never end up mated and trapped in a kitchen, she heads into the Droid district. You can’t mate if the other person isn’t an organic right?

Low on funds and preparing for weeks of sexual stupor, Nötchka finds herself in the Nuts in Bolts, a nearly deserted Cozy House with a handful of older models, two of which aren’t even servicing. But the owner, Proto model Avan-8, is willing to trade sex for repairs and Nötchka is desperate. Everything will stay simple with droids… or it would if she didn’t end up liking them all so much. If she can just make it through her heat without too many feelings, avoid the pack of Dendärys males that seem determined to catch her, and figure out why women are going missing, it will all work out.

It’s definitely not vekking working out.

Good Deeds is a full length, insta-burn, standalone, reverse harem romance novel, starring a fiesty heroine and five fritzing hot android heroes.

Series: Medium Trouble, 1
Author: Alice Winters
Length: 415 pages

Genre: Romance / Mystery / Paranormal w/Ghosts not shifters / Gay

Thoughts: Alice Winters is a hit or miss with me. Sometimes the humor can be OTT or off-putting. This one was alright. I enjoyed Hiro and what he could do. I sympathized with his character and enjoyed Maddox's grumpiness. The sidekick ghost antics was almost too much and I did skip the second sex scene (there were only two in the book) because of the banter, which I was not enjoying--thus the skipping. But despite that, I enjoyed the rest of the book and plan on reading the next one. The mystery reminded me a bit of Criminal Minds and there was a spookiness with the ghost activity that was actually great.

Blurb: Hiro
Though I was born with the ability to see the dead, I struggled with it until my brother was killed and his ghost was left behind. Now, I’m determined to figure out who is responsible for his death… the problem is that Detective Maddox Booker, the one working the case, is a grumpy and stubborn man who wants nothing to do with me and definitely doesn’t believe in ghosts. It doesn’t help that I keep finding myself looking ridiculous in front of the detective, thanks to interfering ghosts who enjoy laughing at my expense. Still, the more I’m around Maddox, the more I realize that beneath that surly exterior is a kind and caring man who will do anything to help.

Maddox
When another man dies, I know we have a serial killer on our hands—the same murderer who has remained elusive for a year and a half. To add to my frustration, I keep running into Hiro at crime scenes only to hear him claim that he can talk to ghosts. The words of the dead could lead us to the serial killer and even tell us who is next, but ghosts? There’s no such thing as ghosts. Hiro is determined and charming, and no matter what I do, I can’t stop letting him get involved. He's definitely snagged my attention, but when he nearly winds up dead, I know he's getting closer to the truth—and if I don’t do something soon, he might be next.

Ghost of Lies is full of action, mystery, humor, and romance. Though more is planned for this couple, the mystery is solved and there is a happy ending.

Series: Aliens in New York, 1
Author: Kelly Jensen
Length: 150 pages

Genre: Romance / Sci-Fi / Gay

Thoughts: So I haven't read this one yet. I came upon it last week when I was looking for something to put on last Saturday's Reading Radar, only I didn't create that post because I ran out of time. This sounds really fun and with it being only 150 pages, not too long. It's on my TBR.

Blurb: Dillon Lee’s grandfather was a conspiracy theorist. Every summer he’d take Dillon on a tour of New York City while entertaining him with tales of aliens. Fifteen years later, after a phone call from a lawyer, Dillon is carrying his grandfather’s ashes from landmark to landmark, paying a sort of tribute, and trying to figure out what to do with his unexpected legacy. When someone tries to steal the ashes, a guy Dillon has barely met leaps to the rescue, saving the urn and the day.

Steilang Skovgaard is a reclusive billionaire—and not human. He’s been living in Manhattan for over twenty years, working on a long-term plan to establish a safe haven for his people. For seven years, his reports have gone unanswered, however, and he is the only surviving member of his interstellar team. The connection he forms with Dillon soon after meeting him is something he’s missed, something he craves.

But after someone keeps trying to steal the ashes, it looks as though Dillon’s grandfather was involved in more than theories—and might not have been exactly who everyone thought he was. Steilang doesn’t know how close he can get to the truth without revealing himself, and Dillon is running out of people to trust. Can these two work out what’s going on before the thieves set their sights higher?

What's on the Reading Radar? #read #TBR #WishList

So I was out of town last weekend and didn't have a chance to build the Reading Radar before I left. I have a couple of #read since I listened to a couple of audiobooks while driving. :)

Title: Reckless
Series: (Leather & Chrome Book 1)
Author: Kiki Clark
Length: 264 pages

Genre: Romance / Contemporary / Motorcycle Club / Gay /

Notes: I bought the audiobook on a whim. It's been a while since I read a MC book and the sample had me hooked. There is very little MC life in this and is more about their relationship. How they meet and grow together as they figure things out. There is a light daddy/boy play here, and even though it starts out with Tank getting out of prison, it is not dark. It's angst free and a little sex heavy. I don't normally ready the daddy/boy trope because the daddies are usually alphaholes. Tank is a nurturing alpha, which I'm all for. There is a little possessiveness, but it wasn't toxic. I really enjoyed the book and got more caught up in it than I thought I would. I'm looking forward to the next book.

Blurb: Ride hard. Love harder. Live recklessly.

Tank is done with his old life. All it's brought him is trouble and misery in the form of a four-year prison term. Though he did find one good thing while behind bars: Charles "CJ" Crane, pen pal extraordinaire.

After months of exchanging increasingly personal letters, Tank knows exactly where he's headed as soon as the prison gates open. CJ doesn't know he's coming, and he's not sure what he'll say when he gets there, but he knows one thing for certain.

The promises he and his boy made to each other in their letters may have been reckless, but he's willing to risk everything he’s got on finding out if what they have could be real.

Reckless is the first book in the Leather & Chrome series and features a motorcycle club's annual charity ride, a possessive biker whose new favorite color is pink, a twenty-four-year-old overly eager to experience his first time, and an excessive appreciation for perfectly lined tattoos.

Please see Author's Note for additional information.

Series: The Alpha Queen Legacy, 1
Author: Laurel Night
Length: 248 pages

Genre: Romance / Slow Burn / Dystopia / Paranormal / Shifters / RH

Notes: I started this on the way back home and gotta say that what I got through is really good. I wanna say, that it's probably one of the better RH romances that I've read in a while... but I'm going to hold onto that until I finish the book. I've read books that start out strong like this one has but it lost it's appeal half way through. I've not read this author before so I'm not sure what to expect.

Blurb: It’s amazing to be a powerful wolf… if you’re male.

When you’re a nineteen year-old girl who can beat the crap out of every wolf in your pack, suddenly it’s not so great.

Love isn’t everything, I know; but even the most powerful she-wolf submits to her mate. If you can’t be beaten, you can’t be mated.

And an unmated wolf has no place in the pack.

My one hope is the clan gathering in the Blackwood Fortress. Every wolf in the continent attends, and a few seriously sexy wolves catch my eye. I’m bound to find at least one who can match me, right?

Then there’s my other problem: My pack leader is a grade-A jerk. After treating me like a genetic freak my whole life, he suddenly decides to stake a claim. But I can’t refuse the challenge, and my wolf won’t back down. Either I submit to the pack leader and become mated to his skeezy pelt, or I win the challenge and my freedom… by taking his place as pack leader.

Only no one has ever heard of a female pack leader, and if I become one, I’ll never find a mate.

Wolf Shunned is the first book in The Warrior Queen Legacy, featuring a badass heroine, a dystopian fantasy world, and loads of sexy wolf shifters. Be warned: This is a slow burn romance in which the heroine keeps all of her men. Once you pick this story up, you won’t be able to stop devouring it until the very last page.

The Warrior Queen Legacy is now a complete series!

Unsure of whom she can trust, she has no choice but to rely on Lilith, heir of the Will-O-Wisp clan. Samantha has to earn her protection by solving a missing person's case that could change the future.

What's on the Reading Radar? #TRB

September was there and gone in the blink of the eye! I think that was the fastest month this year.

I've read nothing new this week and really haven't looked at my TBR, so for this week's radar, I thought I'd go with a theme. I chose Aliens/Space since there were a bunch in my folder. I love space romances and try a lot of different books. I haven't read any of these but they are ones that at sometime, their blurb piqued my interest and I saved the cover in my radar file for later.

Series: (Imperial Space Regency Book 3)
Author(s): Kai Butler
Length:

Genre: Romance / Space Regency / Gay

Notes: Releases Oct 18th. Full disclosure. I haven't read any of the books in this series but it seems that I keep collecting them... 'cause Regency Sci-fi!!

Blurb: A widowed Count…

Everyone in society knows newly titled Count Yun Rit killed his husband. After being trapped into a marriage by parents who wanted a peerage in their family, what was to stop him from murdering his elderly spouse and stealing the title? Only Yun didn’t kill his husband and proving his innocence would expose some devastating truths about his heart and his past.

A decorated Captain…

Captain Ado Pastor is a highly ranked member of the Secrets Division in Her Imperial Majesty’s Navy. When he’s tasked with finding evidence that Yun Rit murdered his husband for a title, he takes a break from capturing pirates and breaking up smuggling rings to investigate the claims against his one-time fiancé.

An old flame rekindled…

Now Ado must choose between his duty to the Empire and his duty to his heart. If making the choice involves heading to the outer rim, engaging with criminals, and tracking down the real killer, then he’s willing to do that for the man he once loved.

The Inconvenient Count is a 90k MM space regency novel with an HEA.

Series: (Aliens Among Us Book 3)
Author(s): Tiffany Roberts
Length: 296 pages

Genre: Romance / Alien Sci-Fi / Holiday /

Notes: There are a couple of Tiffany Roberts Alien Sci-Fis here. I read her off and on and have enjoyed her stories.

Blurb: A retired alien bodyguard. A luscious human female he craves. He’ll do whatever it takes to make her his by Christmas.

Gabriela Romero is a single mother struggling to make ends meet. With Christmas fast approaching, she’s lost work, she’s late on rent, and the zeroes in her bank account are on the wrong side of the decimal point. Fortunately, she has a couple bright spots in her life—her amazing daughter, Ana, and her brief interactions with her gorgeous neighbor from across the street, Mason Lee.

He’s big, strong, kind, and he’s great with Ana. Plus, he looks at Gabriela like he wants to devour her. How could a man like him be real? When he finally asks her out—and an unexpected job comes her way—it seems Gabriela’s luck is finally turning around.

Until the universe decides to give her a reality check and disaster strikes.

In Gabriela’s most desperate moments, Mason rushes to the rescue. But her savior isn’t what he seems. He’s a seven-foot-tall alien with horns and glowing violet eyes. Did she run into the arms of an otherworldly demon or will this unusual being save Christmas—and claim Gabriela’s heart in the process?

Title: Gabriel
Series: Clan Companions
Author(s): Tracy St. John
Length: 242 pages

Genre: Romance / Poly / Alien Sci-Fi / Gay

Notes: So, I'm hesitant with this one. I've read a few books in St. John's Clan of Kaldor series and there was a lot of dubious consent. These guys have a bite that takes away a person inhibitions, and there was on book with on page rape of the FMC before she met the aliens. There were (and still aren't) trigger warnings on that book. I'm not going to assume that all her books lie along that vein, but it also makes me hesitate to read more by her. Especially if she still isn't putting warnings on books with triggers.

Blurb: He never believed in love at first sight, especially love that was forbidden. Then he met a Kalquorian clan.

After fleeing Earth’s Mercy Colony six years before, Gabriel Rossi and his sister Iliana have carved out a decent life on a remote Adraf space station. Each avoids contact with other humans as much as possible. Gabriel’s life is adequate, but he yearns to be free to love as he was born to.

Clan Baknu has been tasked with convincing Iliana to return to Kalquor with them to join a clan. But when Baknu, Takat, and Kisk meet her stunning older brother, they’re eager to claim an Earther companion of their own.

Though Gabriel falls for the three men on sight, his priority is Iliana, who’s less than enthralled about joining a Kalquorian clan. Worse still, a sadistic slave trader is determined to claim Gabriel for purposes too terrible to imagine.

Clan Baknu pulls out all the stops to convince the Rossis that they can find love and happiness among the Kalquorians. They dare death to keep Gabriel out of the grasp of a murderous crime lord, who won’t stop until the Earther is his. Yet their greatest challenge is showing Gabriel dreams can come true…if he’ll accept their love.

Series: (G-Force Federation Book 3)
Author(s): Giovanna Reaves
Length: 315 pages

Genre: Romance / Alien Sci-Fi / Mpreg / Gay /

Notes:

Blurb: "You’re more alpha than omega."

Goliath has always put the Federation and his family and crew first. He has to find out who killed his father and why it’s the only long-term goal he has for his future. When a chance encounter brings him face to face with what could be a future he never imagined or desired, Goliath must decide if revenge outweighs the possibility of destiny.

Camara defected from the G-Force Federation and his clan for refusing to agree with their rules. He seeks out a new path for himself and his small crew of bounty hunters, capturing criminals all over the galaxy. They live freely by their own laws, not caring about finding a mate. However, one encounter with an admiral in the Gargoyle Federation changes everything.

Will Camara and Goliath resist the pull to each other? Or will they let their misgivings about mating hold them back from experiencing unconditional love? Because there’s no hierarchy with love.

Goliath’s Mate is part of the multi-author G-Force Federation MPREG, sci-fi series. Each book in the series can be read in any order or as a standalone. Join the G-Force Federation gargoyle warriors as they embark on their mission to protect and serve the Federation and possibly find their fated mates. This book is for a mature audience only.

Notes:

Blurb: An undercover alien. A curvy human female he’s desperate to claim. One month to make her his.

She has a booming home business, an adorable, mischievous dog, and she just became a first-time homeowner…right next door to the hottest man she’s ever seen.

Oh, did she mention that he happens to be an alien? An alien with dreamy, glowing eyes, wicked fangs and claws, and a tail.

But she’s not supposed to know that, and only finds out after her wonderfully considerate dog leaves a big, odorous gift in her neighbor’s back yard—which promptly results in her being kidnapped.

Now she’s tied to the alien’s bed, because of course he’s come to Earth in search of a mate—and he wants Tabitha to fill that role. More specifically, he wants her to carry his baby.

Saying he’s moving fast seems like a bit of an understatement. Is Tabitha willing to accept her alien abductor as a mate? Is she ready to be a mother?
