What's on the Reading Radar? #TBR #MaysNewReleases

Last week, I decided that I would post the new releases in May that I'm excited about. There are a lot this month so you might want to start with last Saturday's post. I broke things up so the blog post wasn't miles long. :)

Title: Eating Stars
Series:
Author: Angel Martinez
Length: 121 pages

Genre: Romance / Sci-Fi / Alien / Gay /

Notes: releases May 26th

Blurb: Flee. Scatter. Take your mates and your offspring and run.

A new Science Fiction Romance from Angel Martinez

The escape pods fall to Earth one by one over the course of weeks, a mysterious and diverse alien diaspora, each pod containing a different alien race and leaving the world's governments scrambling to deal with this unexpected immigration. Serge Kosygin, still grieving and isolated after his husband's death, watches events with gray disinterest until one day he witnesses a pod crash for himself while driving home. Two of the alien visitors have died, but one survives, badly injured, and Serge is determined that if this alien is also going to die, it won't be under the harsh lights of a government facility.

Devastated by the loss of his life mates in their desperate effort to reach safety, the knowledge that Een is the last Aalana in this sector of the galaxy only compounds his sorrow. He wakes in an alien dwelling under the care of one of the native dominant builder species, a being who appears to share nothing with Een besides a bipedal structure. Slowly, with the help of his patient and kind host, he discovers they are more similar than he imagined as they share harmonies and his host assists him with language acquisition.

Their tentative first contact soon evolves into a deepening friendship, a balm for two grief-weary souls. They'll need each other and their growing bond for the troubles lurking just ahead.

Publisher's Note
Eating Stars was previously published as part of Meteor Strike: Serge & Een as a novelette. It has undergone extensive rewrites and edits with over 10,000 words of new content added.

But now he has to come to grips with the fact that yes, there are aliens on planet Earth; yes, he is falling in love with one; and yes, his virgin alien boyfriend wants to trust him with all of his secrets.

After his disastrous past on Earth, Peter is frightened to reveal his true nature to his perfect boyfriend. But how can they have a relationship if there are secrets being kept? Peter is ready to give it all to Helios, but first he has to be brave enough to reveal the truth of what’s in his heart as well as what’s in his pants.

In the end, he hopes that his Helios is strong enough to understand that even Tentacle Monsters need love too.

Title: Keeper of the Flame
Series: Alien Mates of Testrios, 1
Author: Stephanie Burke
Length: 261 pages

Genre: Romance / Sci-Fi / Aliens /

Notes: So this one was not released in May but in January. When I stumbled across the How Not to Date release listed above, I went looking for other books in that series. Instead, I found this one and had to have it. :)

Blurb: A stranger from the stars. An unbelievable birth. A single father and prince. This is not your mother’s fairy tale…

Flame, a male gifted with a power no man has ever possessed carries another, more precious burden. He will save his children, even if he has to run on another planet.

A woman betrayed. A healer who has spent a lifetime caring for others.

Kendall Moore is ready to spend her honeymoon alone when strange, bright lights reveal a pregnant man on her doorstep. Kendall is motivated to help, but she really has no idea what she’s getting into.

Her ex is stalking her, his queen-mother's death squad is following him, and they are the center of an adventure bigger than anyone could ever have imagined.

When you play with fire, you might get burned… in the most amazing ways.

Title: Earth Fathers are Weird
Series:
Author: Lyn Gala
Length: 6 hours 53 min

Genre: Romance / Sci-Fi / Alien / Alien babies / Mpreg / Gay /

Notes: the audiobook came out this month and I have already listened to it a dozen of times. Really not kidding on that number...

Blurb: Captain Maxwell Davis and his entire unit scrambled to engage alien ships over Iowa. The aliens snatched him out of his destroyed jet before they continued on their interplanetary hot pursuit. Then they informed Max that Earth was too far outside regular shipping lanes to return him to his planet.

So Max ends up in an alien spaceport looking for work. To afford a ticket home he can either spend 300 years working with linguists to improve the computer's questionable ability to translate English or he can take a job as a nanny for an unpopular alien. That way he can afford the ticket in four years. The problem is that the computer may have mistranslated the word "nanny" and there might be a reason an alien is willing to pay such a high fee.

Title: Not Quite Hunter
Series: Not Quite, 3
Author: Kaye Draper
Length:

Genre: Romance / Poly / Alternate History / Fantasy / Intersex MC / Bisexual /

Notes: releases May 26th

Blurb: What’s more fun than dragging a politician, an ogre, a leprechaun, and a hired killer across the wastelands to retrieve a human passenger? Anything. Anything would be more enjoyable than this—even hunting hungry fiends.

Sam is questioning their life choices. Maybe it would just be easier to murder the idiots and leave the bodies in the wastelands.

But, growl as Sam might, everyone knows the hunter will do the right thing. And helping the idealistic human sovereign move his family member and closest advisor from Golding to Westhold is the right thing to do.

Too bad the raiders, hyena beasts, and giant death worms don’t seem to think so….

Tension grows, emotions run high, and heads roll…uh, literally…as Sam takes one more step away from their solitary life and toward actually caring about people—or terrifying monsters, whatever.

Title: Ge-Mi: Part Two
Series:
Author: Mell Eight
Length: 99 pages

Genre: Romantic Elements / Fantasy / Alternate History / Gay /

Notes:

Blurb: Taylor Reyes was born to privilege, but despite that has always been considered an abomination. He was the child that should never have been born and has spent his life trying to prove his worth to the world to no avail. As a red wolf Ge-Mi, humans look at his furry ears before his accomplishments, and no matter how hard he continues to work Taylor knows that will never change. Still, he has a grandfather that loves him and a pack of his own to lead. The life he created for himself is not a bad one, until one day a pair of adorable cat ears derails everything.

The thought of finding a mate had never crossed Taylor’s mind, but suddenly he can’t stop thinking about Nevada. There’s no time for the distraction, though, as people are moving to unseat his grandfather from the city’s throne. The fight has just begun, but ending it might mean Taylor will lose Nevada forever.
