What's on the REading Radar? #TBR #WishList

What have I been up to? Well, I took some much needed time off. I was feeling a bit 'meh' about my stories and knew I needed some me time. Came back Wednesday feeling more energized.

While off work, I did read through Anne Bishop's Others series that started with Written in Red. Amazing series.

So what else is on the Reading Radar? Honestly, not much. I haven't been looking through the new releases. I bought a couple of audiobooks which I'll list, but I haven't really been looking.

Title: Dance only for Me
Series: Dance with the Devil, 4
Author: Megan Derr
Length: 7 hrs and 23 mins
Publisher: LT3 Press

Genre: Urban Fantasy / Gay /

Notes: I have read this book before. It is in one of the series I often reread, but to have it also in audio? I'm there!

Blurb:

Jackie is a sorcerer of no small skill from a family of renowned sorcerers. He is frequently called upon to track down lost items or deal with paranormals others can't, and those that don't fear his magic do fear the alchemist-made revolvers at his hips.

Tired of living several states away from his lover Roman, Jackie decides to surprise him with a move to Roman's city - only to find himself the victim of an unhappy surprise and suddenly alone in the city he'd wanted to call home. Then he's unexpectedly hired by a paranormal detective who could use his help and finds himself dragged into a fight that started in the midst of the Civil War.

Title: In The Wreckage
Series: Metahuman Files, Vol. 1
Author: Hailey Turner
Length: 10 hrs and 14 mins
Publisher:

Genre: Futuristic / Sci-Fi / Gay / Erotic Romance

Notes: I finished listening to this Thursday night and I enjoyed it. But there is a lot of sex that is very explicit.

Blurb:

A Marine with honor.

After surviving a horrific chemical attack that turned him into a metahuman, Captain Jamie Callahan got a second lease on life. For three years he’s been working for the Metahuman Defense Force and leading Alpha Team - all against the wishes of his family. The job requires his full dedication, so it’s no surprise Jamie doesn’t have time for a relationship. An enticing one-night stand with a gorgeous stranger is all it takes to show Jamie exactly what he’s been missing. When a mission to take down a terrorist cell brings that same stranger back into his world, Jamie’s life gets complicated.

A soldier with secrets.

Staff Sergeant Kyle Brannigan was only looking to relieve some stress after a long mission. He didn’t know the hot guy he picked up at a bar was the leader of the MDF’s top field team. When Kyle and his partner get seconded to Alpha Team to help fight a terrorist threat, he has to balance his desire for Jamie against his duty to keep his secrets safe. That gets harder and harder to do amidst regulations both are tempted to break.

Two men trying to survive.

Giving into passion could cost both their careers. Abiding by the rules will only result in heartache. An attack on MDF headquarters brings with it a choice Jamie and Kyle can’t escape - duty, or love?

Title: Lion Mistress Collection
Series:
Author: R.A. Steffan
Length: 37 hrs and 29 mins
Publisher:

Genre: Poly Romance / Bisexual / Fantasy

Notes:

Blurb: The gods promised her a savior.

The gods are a bunch of lying bastards.

Instead of delivering her from a life of slavery, they ripped away everything she ever cared about.

Now, Kathrael must choose. Lie down and accept her fate, or risk her life and try to change the future.

Destiny is calling, but she won’t face it alone. She has a gentle seer, a crazy lion-shifter, and the ghost of her dead best friend on her side. Of course, none of them have the faintest clue what they’re getting themselves into. But that’s all right. Because Kathrael of Rhyth has chosen to fight for freedom.

And as far as she’s concerned, the gods can either step in line, or get the hell out of the way.

The Complete Lion Mistress Collection is a reverse harem/poly romance trilogy with an exclusive bonus epilogue story. It clocks in at over 300,000 words, and the ending is HEA.

A special note for reverse harem lovers: I had never heard the term "reverse harem" when I wrote this series. It was always conceived as a poly romance story, just like The Horse Mistress. That said, it features one amazing woman who ends up with three adoring men at the end, and she is the glue that holds the four of them together.

The pace is medium burn, and the books contain explicit sex with strong LGBT content. If you dislike M/M, you’ll dislike this series.
