What is on the Reading Radar? #WishList #TBR

What am I doing? I've been working on Constant for the majority of the week with Bespoken in between times. I did lose a couple of days to a migraine that messed with my eyesight. Blek. I've also started plotting a flash fiction serial with a holiday bend. It'll basically be smutty times with a small smidgen of romance. :)

Title: Seed of Harmony
Series: (Harmonic Empire Book 1)
Author(s): C. Arthur Shuey
Length: 574 pg
Publisher:

Genre: Science Fiction / Profanity / Extensive Violence / Limited Sexual Content / Some romantic involvements / Space Opera Classification / Gay /

Notes: I love this cover!

Blurb: A powerful Galactic Empire—devastated by a mysterious plague—lost in antiquity.

Terran Colonists—fleeing an Earth void of life and pursued by a hostile alien aggressor.

Two young Terran Explorers and their psychically bonded, genetically enhanced Panther teammates, are marooned on an unexplored planet when their ship is attacked. Injured and cut off from any hope of rescue, Jar'ek must save his friend and shipmate, Kallehn from imminent death. The Ranger team will need to use every bit of knowledge and skill they possess if they want to survive.

Unknown to the Ranger Team, this Planet is not as uninhabited as their surveys had indicated. Something else is there…. Something old beyond counting—watching—waiting—judging them. When Jar'ek and his team set foot on Jaden-325-4, they set into motion a future they know nothing about—yet may shake the very foundations of civilization.

This book is recommended for Sci-Fi enthusiasts 14 to 99.

Before the pair can grapple with the concept of loving, an old foe returns intent on settling the score against Grand Warlock Dra’Kaedan and the D’Vaire family. Gavrael and Gedeon soon discover it takes more than their trusty daggers to finally lay the past to rest.

Title: Axios
Series: A Spartan Tale
Author(s): Jaclyn Osborn
Length: 362 pages
Publisher:

Genre:  Romance / Gay / Ancient History /

Notes:

Blurb: I am Axios of Sparta, and I was born to kill. At age seven, I left home to train with other boys where we were taught obedience, solidarity, military strategy, and how to withstand pain. My harsh upbringing stripped me of my weaknesses and forced me to become strong. Ruthless. But, I craved something greater—a life I could never have.

Against all odds, and the toughest training a warrior could endure, I found an unexpected love in the arms of a fellow Spartan. He was the very air I breathed and the water that sustained me. Fighting side by side with him, we were invincible. Where he went, I followed.

However, there was no place for love in Sparta. Feelings were for the weak. The only life for a Spartan was one of battle and brutality with no guarantee of tomorrow. In times of war, all men were put to the test, but the greatest challenge for us was not one of swords and spears, but of the heart.

But does Wil dare put himself in the hands of a man he believes wants him dead?

Wil’s past weighs heavily on him, tainting his perceptions as he struggles his way through a tangle of lies. With both will and magic as his weapons, he fights desperately for survival—and his soul. For the Aisling is coveted by more than the Guild and the Brethren; ancient gods and soul-eating spirits also want what lives within him. His only chance might be Dallin and his goddess, the Mother, who Wil has been taught to despise above all others.

Genre:  Urban Fantasy / Comedy / Roman & Greek Mythology / Dark Fantasy / Thriller / Paranormal / Magic / Angels & Demons /

Notes:

Blurb: A city that doesn’t believe in magic. Bloodthirsty weredragons. Good thing this reckless playboy has superpowers…

It’s been said that monsters cry when a good man goes to war. But they should run screaming like little school girls when that man is secretly a wizard, and maybe not necessarily good…Nate Temple’s all-consuming quest to avenge his parents is temporarily put on hold when shape-shifting dragons invade St. Louis. And perhaps cow-tipping the Minotaur for answers might not have been Nate’s smartest opening move, because now every flavor of supernatural thug from our childhood nightmares is gunning for him. Nate learns that the only way to save his city from these creatures is to murder his best friend…

Nate’s choice will throw the world and his own conscience into cataclysmic chaos: avenge his parents or become a murderer to save his city. Because to do either, he’s going to have to show the world that magic is very, very real, and that monsters are very, very hungry… To survive, he might just need to take a page from the book, How to Win Friends and Influence Monsters.

If you like Jim Butcher, Kevin Hearne, or Patrick Rothfuss, you will LOVE the first installment of The Nate Temple Supernatural Thriller series.

Title: In The Shadows
Series: Metahuman Files, 3
Author(s): Hailey Turner
Length: 368 pages
Publisher:

Genre:  Romance / Gay / Fantasy / Sci-Fi /

Notes:

Blurb: Take a chance.

Staff Sergeant Alexei Dvorkin doesn’t trust easily, and he most certainly doesn’t trust spies. He’ll work with them if ordered to, but that doesn’t mean he has to like it. Except Agent Sean Delaney is proving to be the exception to the rule. There’s something about Sean that gets under Alexei’s skin and won’t let go. Alexei would be lying if he said he wasn’t interested in what lay beneath the agent’s mask. When they’re assigned together for a mission, Alexei vows to keep Sean safe all while trying to coax the hot agent into his bed.

Hold onto hope.

Agent Sean Delaney has spent his entire adult life living a lie for his country. When the MDF tasks him with finding evidence of criminal wrong-doing against the owner of a private military company, Sean knows exactly how to play the game to get what he wants. He just doesn’t know how to handle Alexei’s advances, nor his own attraction to the younger soldier. Being a spy is lonely work, and Sean knows he should keep his distance, but saying no to Alexei is impossible from the moment they first kiss.

In a world of lies, the truth can be deadly.

When the mission takes a turn for the worse, the only thing left to do is run. In the wake of betrayal, and in the path of danger, can their fragile trust survive the battle?

In the Shadows is a 104k word steamy gay sci-fi military romance with a HFN ending that skirts HEA. There is military violence within the story that may not be suitable for everyone, as well as explicit intimate scenes not suitable for readers under the age of 18. This is a direct sequel to In the Ruins and reading the previous books in the series would be helpful in enjoying this one.

The Incubus Series is an MMF bisexual shifter romance with lots of steamy scenes. Adults only.

You can read this series out of order, but it will have more emotional impact if you read in order.

Blurb: Some live on memories...

Almost dying during a pack uprising has a way of shaking things up. I'm no longer Mr. Laid Back now that there's an itch under my skin I can't scratch.

On a volunteer mission that goes beyond the walls of our compound, we enter the territory of a pack long thought dead, and find ourselves on the business end of their spears.

What I'm not prepared for is what I find within their walls--The one shifter I never thought I'd see alive, the one I'd mourned twice, the one I'd always loved. He is alive, and if I have anything to do with it, he'll stay that way. But he's got secrets, and exposing them could lead us to an enemy worse than the bloodthirsty undead shifters wanting to kill us all...

**This is book two in the Silver Tip Pack series. While it is standalone, I recommend reading book one first--DARING FATE**

THE OAF

Soluc is the leader of the militia of the oves, the ogre-elf hybrids of Tasnia. But controlling a group of half monsters who want nothing more than to draw blood and have fun is proving more complicated than he expected. 1. Just finished reading Seeds of Harmony. It is more SF than Romance, even though the bond between Jar'ek and Kallehn is well written. But the story flows and keeps you pulled in. Thanks for posting this <3

    1. Yeah, I remember how the author said it wasn't a romance though there was a relationship. It is waiting on me to finish my work. Incentive to hurry! LOL :)
