What's On The Reading Radar #WishList #TBR

How did you guys like yesterday's cover reveal? It's so freaking perfect!

The 4th of July is just around the corner which means a couple of things. 1) I'm closer to vacation and 2) I started typing up Releasing Chaos. I'm hoping everything will be wrapped up before I go but that really depends on how long it takes me to type and edit. I have a feeling I'll be lucky to get this out to beta readers before I leave. LOL! We'll see.

What do we have on the radar this week?

Partnered with the perfect Valere Braud for an initiation project, Daniel must fight off dreams of kissing his handsome partner. When Daniel learns that Valere has sins of his own, including laying with other men and consorting with the god-cursed vampires, he's pulled into a world that could ruin the lives of everyone he loves.

Title: Wishes on Airship Wings
SeriesFirebend Chronicles, 2
Author(s): Leah Ross
Length: 228 pages
Publisher: Self-pubbed

Genre:  Romance / Gay / Historical / Steampunk /

Notes

Blurb: It’s been seven years since a depraved act of maniacal egotism altered a family, a whole town, and a young man’s life forever. It shouldn’t even have been possible, and the implications of such a brazen crime rocked the very foundations of life in the Fringe. A sheltered, privileged boy abducted right from his bed in the dead of night. He was never found. And the criminal responsible disappeared along with him. Though the trail is long cold, the ones left behind to grieve still hope for closure.

Everyone who visits the town of Firebend hears about Wyvern. As the most popular, most interesting server at the town’s only tavern, he can’t help but be noticed. It’s his striking, dark good looks. It’s his charismatic, friendly nature. It’s the freaking huge mechanical wings attached to his back. Everyone wants to be near him, but Wyvern wishes that he wasn’t such an object of fascination. He already has about as much attention as he can tolerate.

Wes Sterling is a celebrity among Fringers, captain of the uniquely beautiful airship the Sterling Wish. After months of going town to town and shaking the hand of practically every Fringer in existence, he’s ready for some down time to rest and make repairs. Firebend is as good a place as any. He doesn’t expect to find the solution to his mechanical problems there, and he definitely doesn’t expect to fall in love.

Attraction won’t be enough to bring Wyvern and Wes together. Not even love is strong enough to overcome the barriers between them. All around them hover the specters of Wyvern’s personal demons—past and present, real and imagined. If they can’t unite to vanquish the fear that’s plaguing them, then they’ll lose so much more than they ever thought they’d gain.

Title: Godspeaker
Series
Author(s): Tessa Crowley
Length: 317 pages
Publisher: Self-pubbed

Genre:  Romantic Elements / Gay / Fantasy / Paranormals / Gods & Mythology /

Notes

Blurb: "By my estimation, I have about five days left to live, so I must write this quickly."

Alone in his cell as the world breaks around him, Silas of House Olen scratches out a desperate biography. He has walked with queens, run from a shattering city, watched a great shadow swallow the sun. He has met a god and fallen in love with him — and now he is going to die.

"I never pictured myself ever writing an autobiography, though that may be due in large part to the fact that I never really considered I might have a life worthy of one. But here at the end of all things, alone in my prison cell, while the very world crumbles around the city, I understand the urgency of giving this dreadful sundering a narrative and context."

Silas is a Godspeaker, a single mortal chosen among thousands to be the mouth and the hands and the will of a god — in his case, the Night Father, Umbrion. It’s a tremendous position for awkward, anxious, stuttering Silas, but no sooner had he taken up the mantle had his patron god killed the queen and broke the city in twain.

Now he is an unwilling footsoldier in a war between the gods, as great demons rise up from the sea, and as all of Andelan fights to survive.

Darren tries to keep focused on that crime, but when he starts to show signs of his own magic, he hopes that maybe he can not only be a more effective part of the team but also a real partner to Kavon. He might have a second chance at love if only Kavon can learn to trust his new and unpredictable magic that has changed the rules of the magical game.
